If I had to choose, Skyrim. Unless they suddenly announce "NO CUSTOM SPELLS!"
But the release dates are so far apart, I'll have plenty of time to enjoy both.
They might. I hadn't thought about it but with the way the spell system works, it's a possibility. Although I don't think the game will be any worse if they are gone. They tended to be needlessly complicated and often resulted in magic been underpowered for anyone who didn't know how to exploit the spell creation system.
That being said, if I had to choose one and only one, it would be Skyrim. Highest chance of being the best value per dollar. Elder Scrolls are notorious for oodles and oodles of gameplay and options.
But I don't have to choose just one... and I will still just pick Skyrim.
I was really excited for Witcher 2, after hearing how good the first one was. Then I tried the first one when it went on sale on Steam. Yeah, it's not very good. Graphically, the game is great. However there are a lot of odd choices in design that made it bad. Mainly in the menu and inventory systems, and again in the sluggish combat. I found Divinity II to be a better game, despite its lack of polish.
Dragon Age II lost my support when they decided to wait almost a year before fixing a memory leak with multicore AMD processors in Dragon Age I, making it unplayable. Thus, I have not bothered to go back and get the patch and play through it again because while I had time set aside to play it when it was released, I no longer have that time. It's a shame though, because from what I played it sounded good. It's a shame they removed all the customization from Dragon Age II.
