They've said they're going to mix the good bits from Origins and 2, so theoretically we should get a game practically identical to Origins - in which case I'm in. I'd keep the faster combat animations from 2, that's about it. Conceptually it was mostly very interesting (excluding the defined, human protagonist).

I certainly hope there will be a Dragon Age 3. I want a dedicated isometric perspective like in the 1st one though.
... since the hell when was DA:O isometric? I feel you are thinking of a different game...

Edit: Unless you mean the "tactical" view? Which was completely optional (even during battle) for PC users...
Presumably by "dedicated' he means it was completely viable throughout and had a practical use - he's not saying you had to use it, just that it was properly supported.

I never played 2 because I found the first one mind numbingly dull, but what I've seen of 2 makes it look far better

There's going to be one regardless ya know? I'm more than likely going to ignore it though. I loved Origins but it felt like DA2 really wanted to be a hack-n-slash. It wanted to but it had a very traditional upbringing and woe betide it for daring to come out of that closet. So instead of what could have been a fun, mindless hack n slash we got a weird hack-n-slash/RPG hybrid where every male except for the awesome one hit on me furiously and no I guess I'm still not over that...Hey maybe in DA3 you can be asexual and still have your party like you.

I'm conflicted.
On the one hand, Origins was good.
On the other hand; 2.
2.
I just hope we don't have to be a human in a fantasy universe again, because playing a human in a fantasy universe is like playing an accountant.
Part of why I loved DA:O is that it was the first time in a traditional fantasy setting (...) that I actually cared about Dwarves. It was also the first time I liked playing as a Dwarf. I'm generally an Elf kind of guy but damn if those Dwarves weren't endearing! I take it you're the kind of guy who goes to an ice cream shop and makes fun of the people eating Vanilla? If so they deserve it.
The only person I make fun of for ordering vanilla is my girlfriend. I like vanilla, but I still wouldn't take it if it were an option.
What games were you playing where you didn't care about the dwarves? Dwarves are always the best.

I don't see why there shouldn't be one, I wouldn't preorder it (I wasn't overly keen on Dragon Age as a whole, i bought them both preowned), i might buy it when it came down in price after release

Yes, because they created such a rich world with so much history and culture. It'd be counter-prodctive to go back to the drawing board with so much already created.

I like fantasy RPG's, so it is welcomed. Hope its good.

Yes they should make a DA3 if only to close out the story they were buliding up to at the end of DA2. I hope that it turns out more like DA:O with tight and likable characters and a unique dark fantasy story rather then whatever DA2 was trying to be.

I think the problem with DA2 was it felt very scizophrenic and that might have been from not having an over reaching story besides building tensions between the templars and mages till they boiled over.

I'm indifferent - I enjoyed DA:O well enough for one playthrough but I didn't think it was that great and after its bad reviews I never even bothered to play DA2. The generic fantasy world didn't really do much for me.

Basically I think DA3 will come down to the reviews. It certainly won't be a day-one purchase for me, but if it gets a heap of good reviews and feedback then I'll probably look into it.

I love Dynasty Warriors. And in spite of how repetitive the series is, I've been playing it sense 3 Extreme legends. Given how they basically release the same game, I can't help but have a bit of my intelligence insulted. Just a bit. Dragon Age 2, however, I hated the game. Not just hated it, but I truly do consider it to be amongst one of the worst games for the PS3 that I've played. A part of me wants to see 3 redeem the abhorrent abomination that the second one was, and a part of me just wants the series to die. Really, that's the impact the game has had on me. All I've got to say is if they make a third game they better go above and beyond what they've given the franchise by far. I feel just a bit stupid when I buy a new Dynasty Warriors game, but I felt very stupid from just renting DA2.

I would like another one like origins but if it's anything like 2's recycled world and story i'll pass, I wouldn't mind voice acting for the player but thats about all i would take from 2, Origins and it's expansion Awakening are far better games.

Yes. Here's your chance Bioware. Take your time, think it through and listen to the fanbase.

Depending on how it'll look when trailers start being released, I am willing to give DA3 the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

It seems a lot of people are hoping for a DA3, but with more similarities to Origins than 2. I would agree with this, but really a combination: combat could include the tactical view, and fast-paced action of DA2, but with more playable races and skill tree closer to the first. In terms of story, I think both of them were pretty damn (apart from the ending sections of DA2, the epilogues were great), tying in Kirkwall with the rest of the world somehow would be awesome.

But I am pretty much 90% sure that's not gonna happen knowing Bioware, so I actually voted no. I'd love to see another Neverwinter Nights type of game though, haven't played anything with a semblance to D&D type rules RPG in a long time..

I do not want "talk to a companion" being a side quest, I'd like to actually get to think for myself rather than being given a nice little check-list to work through.
In definite agreement with this. I preferred Origins' way of letting you talk to the characters when you wanted to, not when the story dictated. I did like the voiced lead though, didn't have a problem with that. For me, it flows better if either everyone is talking or no-one is. The gaps in conversation felt strange. The caveat to this is of course, make sure you get great VAs, because they can make or break it.

I liked the skill trees of DA2 (didn't feel like I was wasting points just to get to the last skill), but the general fighting feel of DA:O, so marry those up. Waves of combat is fine, but not for every single bloody fight. Mix it up a bit again. More fights like the Broodmother. But less Broodmothers, they give me the creeps.

More party banter. Even more.

And let a couple of people have heal spells for crying out loud, rather than just one unless you're a mage. I didn't always want Anders along, sometimes I wanted Destructo-Merril, but then I'd get to the boss fight and find myself short on healage.

The upshot though is that yes, DA3 please. I want to see where the story will go and what happens next.

I loved DA:O and really liked DA:2. 2 didn't have the sprawling story and as good of characters but the combat system was more refined and fun.

So, yeah, I wanna see a DA:3
