Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but TES has already featured dragons. In Morrowind, there were dragons, but they flew really high out of sight and were also invisible.

This is a serious post. I distinctly remember reading about it ingame in a book or in diologue with someone. Can anyone confirm this?
That was M'aiq the Liar. Note the name. Nothing he says can be taken seriously. There are no dragons in Morrowind.
Thanks, that question was driving me crazy. I must have gone through the whole game believing that there would be a dragon as an easter egg somewhere if I jumped/levitated high enough in the sky.

Yeah I'm gullible, but it's nice to know I'm not imagining things too.

Sorry the burst your bubble, it's Bethesda. Dragons ARE awesome, but their encounters in no way will be similar to what you just said. The main reason: Bethesda suck at things like that. Let's see epic moments in their other newer games:

- Oblivion - Very little, the closest thing you could call "epic" is the end and even it was a "cinematic" experience instead of an interactive one
- Fallout 3 - Pretty much the same as the above

There is no way that the AI will be advanced as that. Though it would be awesome.

Also the spelling of the poll choice "Their EPIC!!! Go dragons!" is giving me a fuck.

Didn't read the OP, I'm in ADD mode right now, so fuck it.

With a broom (sorry, OP, I just castrated your question).

Anyways, I like dragons, and I like Elder Scrolls. Put them together and I'll buy it.

Plus, they've already centered this chapter of TES around them, so randomly taking them out would be pretty detrimental and bad for the release date.

So in conclusion, YAY. Fucking YAY.

I liked the final battle in Oblivion, the one before you go into the huge cluster-fuck oblivion gate.

It wasn't super crazy like it was hyped up to be, but considering that I was playing on the 360, it was the closest I could come to any semblance of an awesome NPC battle.

Besides an Imperial City riot, I liked causing those. I really did.

Anyways, from what I've read, I have no reason to disbelieve that Bethesda has learned from past mistakes and shortcomings and rewritten everything/made epic things happen.

At the same time, you're right. It IS Bethesda after all.

I agree with you on the spelling mistake though, but I can't say much more because, as I stated above, I'm ADD mode and am currently typing this while playing with a cat and eating breakfast, so I probably spelled every other word wrong.

However Skyrim is running on a totally newly made engine not used by any other games yet... so you don't know what could happen, perhaps the NPC's will be that smart. And then Skyrim will win game of the year... And since it's Bethesda, and they seem to do that whole "best game of the year" thing quite frequently I have full faith in their abilities and commitment.

I just hope they are strong beyond understanding.

I want them to fuck me up and then finally after a 20 minute fight kill them victoriously and suck out his soul and heal my wounds.

I want to have a goddamned wooden leg after a fight with a dragon.

The engine is a completely overhauled Gamebryo (the one from Oblivion, Fallout 3 and NV). I have no doubt in Skyrim being a great game and a GOTY, but that level of detail in games hasn't even been hinted at. That's just way too advanced and even if it WAS possible, I'm sure Bethesda wouldn't be the one utilizing it first.

No you are 110% wrong, it is not gamebryo... even check online. Todd Howard said it himself. It is a totally new fleshed out engine.

"Though Skyrim's Nordic setting is a more rugged environment than the Renaissance festival feel of Oblivion's Cyrodiil, the new setting isn't lacking in breathtaking views. To create a diverse country filled with steep mountain passes and dense forests, babbling brooks and violent waterfalls, glacier coastlines and snowy tundras, Bethesda went back to the drawing board and rewrote every major system powering the gameplay experience. The result is the newly dubbed Creation Engine and Kit"

Everything is better with any of the following things:

Dragons
Ninjas
Pirates
British Accents
Explosions
Awesome Hats
Catgirls

So of course dragons are an awesome idea!
so all the elder scrolls have been missing is dragons up till now
and ninjas O.O

They're so close to perfection omg!
I'm fairly certain if any one game had all of those, the universe would explode from awesomeness.
Well Skyrim practically has all of those except cat girls... but, show me one game that does...
Khajiit....
Dragons and Assassins with katana's.

I think we might want to watch out for that exploding universe...

I am so hyped for Skyrim. There is no way the encounters will be in as much detail as you say in the OP but it is going to be awesome fun. I for one am making a ''cat girl'' ;) called Nyan.
I always play a khajiit assassin. >:3

Oblivion i found boring as hell, but I did like Fallout 3 a lot. Hopefully they'll carry on the progression, and if so, I'll probably love skyrim.

Anyway, a dragon fight could be suitably epic, as long as it was sufficiently challenging and not overused. Seriously, if they're as common as deathclaws I'll be pissed, I want them to be a behemoth kind of battle, with a real sense of victory when you beat one, not a "oh, this again".

Female Khajiit are cat girls

OT: As much as I like the idea of there being unlimited dragons to kill there is something about being able to hunt a species to extinction that I would have liked
