As an Irish citizen I must say that I'm not surprised. It's sexist, it's bullshit but there is a chance it'll be brought in because no-one cares about sexism if it's against men. It's the same with those bloody car insurance companies that only insure women. That's sexist and if there was one that only insured men it'd be shut down in a matter of minutes.

If I was in control of this, there would be two stages of drunk driving. The first would be low, and breaking it once would result in a fine. The second time it was broken, their license would be taken away. The second stage would be higher BAC and having it would result in instantly taking away the license. Refusing to take a breathalyzer would also be considered an obstruction of justice and could be punished by jail time.

But what Ireland is doing is a terrible idea, that not only takes away the privelage of driving, but is also sexist.
nah..just let the copper kneecap them and make them crawl to the nearest hospital..that'll teach them not to drive drunk the 2nd time.

This is the equivalent of saying "Statistically, black people commit more crime than white people, so black people aren't allowed after 10:00 pm."

No. You cannot do that.

I was the 5th person to vote yes.
Can you give us a reason for your viewpoint?
In my part of America..Alaska that is..you might have heard about Alaska..we had our Governor run for Vice President..
In Alaska, there are shitloads of pickups and drunk males to drive those aforementioned pickups.
Not everyone here can afford to drive a pickup..some might drive a fuel efficient jeep or a subaru..so when those drunk bastards are out, breaking the law..there's a good chance that they will hit someone and possibly kill them or maim them real good..while the inebriated shit usually ends up with maybe a scratch.

If a law like that were to be passed here..part of me would feel that it is a violation in some way..but then again driving is a PRIVILEGE,not a right.

I'm 27 and have never drove while sleepy,or drunk or high. Hell I don't even drink or do drugs, but I'm at the mercy of one of these worthless shits who think it's fun to go barreling down the road going 60MPH in a 35MPH zone.My dad drives a semi during the end of the normal working hours(he leaves for work around 5PM) and he usually gets home around 11PM-midnight and some nights we drive to town to get food or to get the mail.

There's probably a study showing that the large majority of drunk drivers are males, age 20-25 and thereby making it illegal for them to drive a vehicle after a specific time would save lives..I can't argue with those findings because I've seen the results of drunk driving. It ain't pretty.

I actually like the idea of this, but 25 is way to high. It should be like 21 but not higher than that.
For... Just guys...? Are you fucking serious?

Ever worked in a predominantly-female workplace? If you're a guy, it's your fault. That's lesson #1, before "Where are the toilets?" and "So... What am I actually doing?"

Conversely, if you EVER suggest that they might have a problem, personally, you're being sexist because they're women. Also, you HAVE to do all the heavy liftuing "because they're girls"...

This law feels like an extremely blunt instrument used to solve a problem caused by a minority.

So, Escapees, what do you think of this proposal? Do you think it will help cut down on road deaths? Do you think it's stupid? A good idea?
Obviously whoever came up with this idea is a barely functioning retard.
1) Sexist
2) Ageist
3) Illogical, as experience is key to being a better driver.

That's sexist, ageist, and fucking ridiculous!

I can't even begin to comprehend how fucking stupid this is. The higher insurance premiums were bad enough, but this is going too far!

Because, of course, young men are more likely to get into crashes.
Young people (and men in particular) are bullied off the road through high insurance premiums already.

It's based on stereotypes and it's unfair.

"Yes we can" (thanks to Obama for that) ..because look at Africa..and they think slavery was the ultimate evil in America at one point. I would change your wording to "..should not be allowed after 10:00 PM"

Look at the population in jail..in California jails, you'll probably find more mexicans than blacks..in a jail in Montana..you'll find more white people than black people in jail.

Can't forget to sterotype too because people OTW(other than white) tend to follow whatever society's stereotype for them is..

News Flash:
More Muslims than Christians found in Saudi Arabia..

Really? If I were in charge, if you are ever caught drunk driving, even a little bit drunk, your licence would be taken away for life, with no chance of getting it back.

"Sorry sis, I can't come pick you up, it's past curfew. Maybe one of the boys at the party will risk it, but not me!" After all, what law-abiding brother would drive past curfew? So sister gets a ride from Tom T. Rapist (non-traditional pronunciation) and is never seen from again.

If only you could drive past curfew!
What if she was safer with Tom T than "Creepy brother with incest on his mind."?

It's a stupid law. It would keep people driving around pointlessly at night (alot of people do that here, really don't get the fascination) but also I can't get home from gigs in other towns.
