Two complete pages of comments, and nobody thought to check the more incredulous 'facts' in the op post? Visit the link and read the article, it says "Younger motorists", nowhere does it say only men are targeted. Byrne does use a male in his example, but you don't have to get your man-knickers in a twist because he has a valid point.

Also it talks about 6-12 month periods during restricted license phases (only maybe after full), and that's what some countries (New Zealand, for instance) already have.
I apologise. My original source delivered its facts in such a way that it seemed as though this would only target males...
Mooncalf is right. I was wrong. I have changed my OP.

Sorry.

Retarded. I mean first off, you may need to do something late so you may need to do something. Or if you're working late. It would be more acceptable if it was 12-5 or something. Secondly, the age is just stupid. Into your mid 20's makes it even more stupid. By that time some people even have full time jobs and such, and you don't need 7 years of experience just to drive after dark.

And doesn't this start sounding like a curfew?

Silly.

Pizza stores use males predominantly under 25 as delivery drivers. There would be outrage if everyone had to be home before 10, that's just a repulsive idea. How would drunk people get late night pizza?

I'm acually going to go with yes, and the only way your going to make me say no is if you resurect my fucking dog. He died at 11:30 (in the US) because of some collage pricks speeding down my road.

What the fuck are they thinking!? Any normal-headed person knows no 25 years old will drive BEFORE 10 pm.

Bit of sarcasm there, you know, don't throw stones...

LOL, what a dumb restriction. Tell Ireland to get on the graduated license program (permit at 15, partial license at 16, full at 18).

Oh man that would suck if that law got passed. It would be interesting to see the economic reprocussions. Imagine how much money restaurants, strip clubs, bars, and what not would lose.

By this measure, old people should either A) have to retake their test at 65 or B) Not be allowed to drive, at least on motorways.

Where I live, you have to be older than 18 to be out pass 10. If your driving with a learners permit, you have to have someone that's at least 25 in the car with you.

That's sexist, ageist, and fucking ridiculous!

I can't even begin to comprehend how fucking stupid this is. The higher insurance premiums were bad enough, but this is going too far!
What he said but with 27% more rage.

...What about people who get off work after 10pm?

I understand insurance companies have to make some money, and young male drivers are most likely to dick around and cause something damage, but isn't this going a little bit too far?

Well, statistically they cause the most crashes etc so yeah! Plus, I'm 25 next year, and don't need to drive until after that! So do it!

It's not a good idea because i have seen crappy male and female drivers. And Under 25??? WTF honestly who actually came up with this idea. probally the same people who banned anal sex in some of the states in USA. Just make the drivers test more challeging and increase the measures taken to prevent drunk driving instaed of saying all 25 year men all drunk idiots and shouldn't be allowed to drive
