I was 2 when the last game came out so I missed the craze, although I remember my brother having a demo to a sidescroller version (or something like that). Nevertheless, I will probably get it on sale if the reviews are good enough.

Realese Day. Balls of Steel Edition. Release Date delivery from Amazon.

Hell yes I still care. That leaked footage from May 2009 was my first introduction to:

1. First Person Shooters.
2. Cussing.
3. The middle finger.
4. "Mature" videogames.
5. Heavy Metal.

Sure I hadn't ever played DN3D before until recently, but I owe Duke for introducing me to my favorite kind of videogames ever. The least I could do is buy the game that began my obsession with all of the above.

Reading this post made me realize that, for younger gamers, Duke Nukem Forever may be just as important as DN3D was to me at the time.

Right on. Kick ass and chew bubblegum.

(I don't plan to buy DN:F, but I respect the Duke)

:D

I have a feeling that it will be bad and crude, so i plan to either rent it or buy it really really cheap.

I've never cared about Duke Nukem, but I will pick this up some time, just not sure when. T
his game coming out is as unexpected as finding a yeti, so seriously, this game will be legendary in the sense that it should not exist. Thus I do need to get it. I just have a lot of unfinished games to go through first...

It is just a self-indulgent sexist FPS that thinks it is funny. Getting on release day.

If I had to pick between the Duke and Skyrim, I'm going for fighting dragons with swords.
But if I got the extra money, I'm going to buy this over the top gem without a heart beat.

I'll be 32 when Duke comes out. It will be my 'guilty pleasure' for this year.

Even though I buy all my games on Steam these days I'm very tempted to get DNF from an actual shop.

That way I'll always be able to hold up the box and say "Look, it does exist."

I feel like people are feeling obligated to want to get this game. Duke is such a big part of the gaming world that if you didnt really want the game you would be judged. The only people who truly want this game are the people who refer to chuck norris.

Duke Nukem: Forever is like.....'Commando' to CoD's 'Jason Bourne'. The palette cleansing sorbet that will take me back to a simpler time in gaming. Release day, no question.

Always bet on Duke.

As Yahtzee said in one of his reviews, it'll be good to not have a samey war shooter. It has potential to change the formula by reverting it back to the old formula.

I intend to buy it just so I have more lines to say with my Duke Nukem impression. Because saying "I have ball of steel" gets tedious after a while.

Kunzer, I think you're taking your analysis of DNF a bit too seriously. Granted, this is my own interpretation, but DNF comes across as the kind of silly FPS that isn't meant to be taken seriously. Amidst all the Crysis, Gears of War, and Modern Warfare repetition, it's nice to see an FPS on the horizon that demonstrates that fun games can be over-the-top funny.

Do i still care? Hell yeah I do! Because as someone else already pointed out "variety is the spice of life" and I sincerely hope that DNF can somehow change this industry once again and make them realize that not every shooter needs to a be nitty gritty realistic terrorist/russian/north korean extravaganza. In my opinion its games like these that are the new "garbage" games these days.
