Yes, because my friend was an idiot stole my game and loaned it to someone. He said they threatened to beat him up to do it, so it was up to me to get it back.
Three black guys one grade above me staring me down calling me a honkey and a cracker. I stared them down and just said I wanted my game back. The WHOLE time these morons are just laughing at me calling me names and whatever. All I brought from this is anyone who said there isn't racism against white people is a moron. All this BS because my friend stole the game from me to lend it, seriously.
Later on I saw the guy on the hallway without his big talk friends, and he didnt' say a word, just walked faster. Later that day when he found a girl he could talk big to, started bragging while I was on line to get lunch, I simply said "Really, you were really making a break for the classroom when I caught you alone." It shut him up real fast and I really to this day wondered where I got the confidence to say that since I was shy as hell in middle school.

Once was threatened repeatedly by some kid of about 12 on a train, he really wouldn't leave me alone so I smacked his head into a wall for him and then threw him down the carriage. I'm not proud of that before you ask. Very nearly got me into a whole world of shit, too, in fact. Luckily this kid really was obnoxious enough to give me some measure of immunity from the authorities that he must have complained to.
He went away, scared for like, 15 mins, and then came back and proceeded to follow me around for an hour or two spouting more threats. Half my body weight, this kid. I was actually trying to see how far he'd follow me. It was quite a ways. Fucking hell...
Eventually he got bored and left. Didn't see him again. Think he was trying to goad me into attacking him again when there were people watching. Cop stopped me later and asked if I knew anything about an incident, and after my predictable lie (another brilliant idea from me, there) he told me something about hitting kids is a bad idea and let me go on my way.

Eventually he got bored and left. Didn't see him again. Think he was trying to goad me into attacking him again when there were people watching. Cop stopped me later and asked if I knew anything about an incident, and after my predictable lie (another brilliant idea from me, there) he told me something about hitting kids is a bad idea and let me go on my way.
Two times stand out for me that particularly sucked.
Once when I was out late at night in Kingston (Canada not Jamaica) some jerks stuck a knife in my face in an attempt to mug me. Fortunately I was on rollerblades and I managed to ditch them pretty easy.
Another time I was at a party when out of nowhere this coked out nutjob that's twice my size pins me up against a wall by my neck and is gonna beat me to death with a fire poker. Apparently because I have red hair he thought I was related to some family he hates (idiot). Fortunately (again) one of his larger friends grabbed ahold of him before he had the chance to bludgeon me. I got the heck out of there pretty quick.

I used to be threatened (and beaten on) fairly often by my brother and his buddies. Brother almost killed me at one point. I moved out, and since then there's only been one time when I've really been afraid of a threat.

This gang of rabid youths were throwing stones and stuff as the kids I have to look after, some only 4 years old, so we have to keep them safe. This included telling them to get off of our property or we'd call the police.
They didn't like it and kicked off at us. We can't fight back infront of the kids because we have to keep them safe, so we all had to go inside and lock ourselves in while the retards, all of whom has knives, were rounded up and moved on.

I reckon I'd take the mofos on these days though, unless they were armed or crazy (I generally avoid conflict if I can, but if push came to shove...). Hell, I rushed/chased away a pack of wild dogs (bastards were ripping a cat apart, was really awful) so humans in general would be less scary.

Been threatened a lot and had a few people attack me but the two weren't really related: the threats I've received have never come to anything.
I think the best way to avoid these things is usually to just keep your cool and talk back in a non-confrontational fashion, to show that you're not scared, but that you don't want to escalate the situation.
Unless you're in school or prison, where you should just whomp the guy to set a precedent that people who mess with you get hurt.

I'd heard that he carried a knife so I decided I wasn't letting that happen and I hit him a few more times. Once he stopped reaching I stopped hitting him. He claimed this as a victory, but what are you going to do?
I'm a lot older and hopefully a bit wiser now, as well as holding instructor grades in 2 martial arts, but I still don't see that as a good enough reason to get in a fight. My biggest problem is with young chavs. Basically, they start getting lairy about age 12, but I don't think the authorities would take kindly to a 6' 200lbs 28 year old guy beating the shit out of scrawny kids, so I just walk away.

I've been threatened with violence from a couple of chavs before but I just ignored them. If they did lay a hand on me I probably would have beaten them to a pulp though (I was in a foul mood at the time). Perhaps they sensed that and they didn't do anything, I dunno.

My resolve? Sit through and wait if it is even happening. Most threats are empty shells of intimidation cast opon one in a fit of anger.
But if they intent to go through with a threat, I would use my right of self defence.
I´m a small person...so imagine dude barely your chest height pulling you by the collar and headbutting you to get a point across...
It is so wonky here that even if you FELT threatened by apearance alone, you have the first strike.
Like when some Footballplayerguy wants to beat you up and looks down on you, you have all the right you want to crush his balls with your fist to make him stop threatening you.
