I don't understand how anyone can restrict him or herself to one single genre. For fast action and great visuals, I turn to shooters. Intelligent, moving games with significant depth and meaningful stories are the domain of role-playing games. Strategy and puzzle games are excellent for more casual, slow-paced play. For raw, unadulterated, sophisticated fun, I never second-guess picking up an action-adventure or platform game.
Trust me, somewhere out there are people who refuse to play anything but RPGs, FPSes, etc. I haven't met one myself (That I recall), but I know there is someone like that out there somewhere.

I don't doubt that such people exist, because I have met them. I simply don't understand how one can actually do it, though. Videogames are not nearly as diverse as, say, music. You can't restrict yourself to one genre and expect to be constantly entertained and captivated.

My favourite is RTS, controlling an army you built from scratch is the most fun I have ever had.
yEAH, BUT THE PROBLEM WITH RTS's, is that micro managing is a *****, and that I can never make a big enough army, or have a big enough enemy to satisfy my Tyranical rule as commander of NOD.
yEAH, well you just suck! Nah just playing, it is difficult to get used to micro managing and to remember all the keys for quick builds but the thing is, every game takes alot of practise to get good at!

Don't tell me your playing Kains Wrath!

I don't typically bother with hotkeys for buildings & such. I just select them manually. And haven't yet decided on my favorite sub-faction from Kane's Wrath. For GDI, it's probably the Steel Talons. NOD is probably the Marked of Kane.

I like FPSs the best, but I dabble in RPGs. Action Rpgs, mostly.
I also like Bethesda's games for combining the two.

For basic WoW today, you can get a full copy of it for 20 bucks, so if you go by that math, you are paying 5 bucks for the actual game. And 15 bucks for the first monthly fee.

I dabble in most genres of gaming. Except for sports games. Not a fan of sports, real or simulated. Mainly cause' I would have no clue what's going on or how to play. Newest game I've got is RE 5

Every one has their plus points except racing games for me. I've tried, god knows I've given them a go, but there doesn't seem to be anything compelling about them. I play games to indulge in some type of escapism, whether it's breaking jaws with wrenches in FPS or mixing potions in some RPG. It doesn't seem that unlikely that I should learn to drive a car and then smash it into a wall a la burnout.

I'm an RPG girl at heart, but sometimes I just want to play Left4Dead and hack at some drooling zombies. Heh, I like RPG's becuase I do like a good story with my games.
