My favorite(and first) RTS is StarCraft. Kind of surprised it isn't on the list.
because it's not a series(yet)?

I'll take Homeworld, with Total war as a close second.

I would agree, that it should be on the list, but I still stand by TA

Does it have to be a series?

If not, I have to say World in Conflict for it's awesome implementation of nixing the resource gathering. The only thing close to resource gathering would be the Tactical Aid points, which you get from capturing command points, fortifying them, and killing enemy units. I also like how new units are hot-dropped onto the field instead of built right there on the field.

If it does need to be a series though:

I'd say a tossup between Homeworld and CnC.

Can I just say that this poll leaves out a massive number of series, Starcraft, Heroes of Might and Magic, etc.

So "Other" is obviously going to win

I am voting Starcraft, on the basis that an epic expansion, and a sequel coming out this year make it a series.

And FYI, DoW is epic.
DoW has a limit cap on your troop numbers and as such is severely limited in its epicness. also that makes it awful because it means that the races sre unbalanced.

And Im a Warhammer:40K player and its a very poor portrayal of the universe.
That stops people from zerging and makes players think more about their strategy instead of just grabbing loads of powerful units and flooding the enemy with them.

I will agree it doesnt portray the 40k universe that well, but its still very good.

Although the poll options are quite limited, I voted TA (series) assuming that it encompassed SupCom.

Granted, I still love Starcraft, but I find SupCom more fun to actually play.

Starcraft, by a mile. Did you forget to include it in the list? For crying out loud, it's practically the national sport of South Korea.

But it means that races that have more powerful units can have a more powerful army of the same number of men (roughly)

Also Necron can bypass it with the ressurection orb, making them unbalanced.

Total War for sure I really can't stand that resource gathering stuff from RA and others.
Fan of Civ too but I guess thats not an RTS.
