If it's a moral choice thing and my option is to vengefully kill or mercifully spare, I'm a bit softer on women usually, or anyone who begs for mercy actually.
However, I don't care when it comes to standard enemies or bosses who must be fought. It doesn't matter what gender, they're shooting at/stabbing/throwing explosive baby dolls at/attempting to eat me, that's bad. They shall feel no less of both shotgun barrels.

Gun em down. Im the kind of asshole player who kills everyone not vital to continuing the plot. The kind of player who makes car bombs in GTA4 and leaves them on busy street corners. The kind of player who waits until an entire town goes to sleep in Fallout 3 and then kills them in their sleep. I think you get the point. I don't feel the slightest bit bad about it either, because I differentiate between video games and real life. The act of pushing some buttons to plant bombs in a virtual hospital is very far removed from actually ending someone else's existence. Call me a pyscho.

Well, I am a girl, so I really don't think of it as being any different. Especially in something like Mass Effect where you have an all female race, yeah you're going to come across female enemies.

The only time I have ever thought about the gender of my enemies was in the Fallout games where there are perks that let you deal more damage to enemies of a certain gender. Therefore, tactically, you want to go after the gender that's faster to kill. Otherwise gender always has been and always will be irrelevant to me when it comes to the people shooting at me.

And I don't mind enemy feedback, because it tells me they're dead. That's a helpful thing in the middle of a confusing firefight.

They attack me and ***** goes down without a head, I see a ton of female enemies in Dragon Age mostly elves using magic against me. Why should they get special treatment? They're helping the bad guys for god sakes, they knew what they were going up against when they signed the mercenary application form.

Since they are fictional there is no reason to pull back against either gender. But I do feel different when I kill women in games.

Don't make me no never mind as long as i am not the bad guy in the situation.

BUT! if they scream like a porn-star in orgasm i am out. Like when i play Zoey in l4D and she gets hit by and she screams out in orgasmic pleasure/pain. It just weirds me out.

This is true... my favorite MMO (City of Heroes) doesn't feature female foes until you reach the 30s when they show up in business suits as part of the evil corporation faction Crey. It isn't until end game that you come up against the Knives of Artemis, the all-female faction.

At least blue side, levels 1-30ish are all against males... (or genderless)

Responding to the second edit from OP:

I believe feedback violence in movies and videogames should be as realistic as possible. A movie with the hero mowing down tons of enemies with no focus on the consequences of his actions is offensive to me. For example, watching the storming of the beaches in Saving Private Ryan is healthier for the mind than watching the elevator lobby fight scene in the Matrix because the in the beach invasion scene you see how horrible killing really is.

Well, until they add pregnant female enemies, whither they're male or female, if they are pointing a gun or some weapon in my general direction, and aim to kill me, than the fact they end up dead is their own fault.

I think its just that when we hear a manly "ahhh" after being shot, we're desensitized, but hearing and seeing a woman die is just a bit too odd for us.

I don't have a problem with it. I'm an equal opportunist murderer.

Frankly, I find it disturbing that anyone can feel bad or squeamish over enemies screaming in pain etc., as that shows a less-than-solid line drawn between fiction and reality.

I think that there should be more women enemies/antagonists in games. Women can be just as mean/ruthless (if not moreso, if you need proof, look at the average highschool "popular girl") as men. Of course this probably stems from my "If they hit you, you better hit them back, not matter who, how old, or what gender they are." upbringing. If you shoot/swing/cut/or otherwise take hostile action towards me, you go down. Hard. That's really all there is to it.

Well, I'd like to think that I can discern between fantasy and reality. I find it equally disturbing that people go "No, I will slaughter anyone in my way" or some variation of that (like you just did) for the same reasons as you (hell, some have said they prefer to kill women, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they're sane.)

I think it's the characters and their loyalties that matter more than their gender. Of course then there have been a couple times when I've played games where the villains are females who desire to bring the male race to extinction. I really don't know what to think of them.

Actually I'm more in the vein of sometimes wondering whether or not my character is really the "good guy" at all. It's kind of weird when you think about how many people get killed in any random action scene.

I was thinking about this and how I react in games and I realised that I dont like killing females at all. Even in free roam games like SR2 or GTA, I usually avoid hitting or shooting women. I dont know why, I just do. I hate killing the F.R.O.G.'s in MGS4 but it is the easier option.

Also I dont mind enemy reactions to attacks. Its good audio and visual feedback, confirming a kill without having to check up close. However, whenever I kill someone in Metal Gear Solid I usually feel a little down. Mainly because of The Sorrow in MGS3, messed me up something fierce.

As a rule I prefer games that give you another option to killing as I find that it is more rewarding to try and end up with a zero body count if possible.

I fell a little short with God of War.

As far as women as enemies; the only time I have a problem is when they are overly sexualized femme fatales. Sultriness and sexual attractiveness is normally quite subtle.

I can't agree nearly 50% of all 2D/3D beat em ups have female player characters, if you were talking about film then you would have a point but videogames have no problem with females and involvment in violence.
