ooooh I clicked this topic with Halo in mind but, wow, Timesplitters was freakin' sweet.

The bit in Future Perfect where Cortez gets kicked in the nuts by one of his many sidekicks (Jo-Beth Casey maybe?) and briefly speaks in high-pitched squeeky voice..... I giggled like a child when I first saw that.

Wasn't there talk of a Timesplitters 4? What happened to that?

Deus Ex just from what's on the list, Source if we're going with pure shooter. Where's STALKER? That's much more of an FPS than Deus Ex.

gotta go with halo. original halo was the first xbox game I bought, and it blew me away. Despite what others say, I loved the story and the characters (I dare someone to say they didn't like Sgt. Johnson) and the multiplayer was some of the most fun I ever had with any game. Granted I muted all mics when I wasn't playing with friends, but that's just common sense.

They cloned Sgt. Apone. Big whoop.

I hapilly chose Call of Duty. Say what you will about Modern Warfare 2, but it has been undoubtedly the most fun shooter series in recent history. Though, I do have a question for Killzone.

Do over-priced tech demonstrations really count as an FPS of the decade?

Its wierd logic, its the FPS of the decade of 00-09, System Shock 1+2 came out in the 90's, borderlands is nothing like them...

So by that logic Pink Floyd's Brick in the Wall is the greatest FPS of 00-09 that came out before that time period.

Sorry, I thought SS2 was post-2000, sorry.

I voted Battlefield because somehow I missed Deus Ex on the list, so that would have been my vote.

It is depressing to see BF so far down the list though.

I'll go with Source; Half Life 2 alone is my FPS of the decade, and the Orange Box, along with a collection of mods, cements it to the point that it's not even fair.

I voted Halo. Not because of Halo 3(fuck no) or Halo: Combat Evolved(I only played a very short multiplayer match in that, so I can only say little to none), but Halo 2. I did love that game.

Gosh... That's a lot to choose from. I would go with Painkiller, but I had lost interest by the end.
I'll go with the first Call of Duty maybe.

Borderlands (I count it as it has basically the same layout as bioshock).

Wait... What?

Think about it, strip away the mad max aesthetic and it's basically bioshock with every room in rapture stretched 5 miles minus plasmids.
