Vs Threads are bad.
and not adding to the topic is also bad.

O.T. (you see, i added an On Topic part) I like PC controls way better, the thing is i grew up on consols from the first playstation, so im used to the controls alot, especialy since the sony controlers have barely changed AT ALL.

But i did get to play Halo CE on the computer before it crashed and god damn was that fun, i really need a gamiung computer.

PC nothing beats the mouse and key board precision plus the fact that mods and user made content come optional rather than base the entire game around it.

This has prolly been over done topic wise but i'm new to this forum so here is a quick poll to assuage my curiosity. What do you think?

How in the world can you even play fps games on consoles? last game i played ALOT was goldeneye and a bit of halo.

If you have to worry about three different axis*(xyz) of control for look with both your thumbs how are you going to press square, triangle, X, O (ps3) at the same time you look? Even with triggers...auto aim is blasphemy!

FPS on consoles is an abomination, if i had a time machine i would go back in time and prevent it from happening. Then i would go on an excellent adventure or perhaps a bogus journey.
In 2006, the Nintendo corporation released a new system called the "Wii." Although it suffered from a sluggish start in terms of FPS releases and pretty much everything else, the system has seen some top-not first person titles, especially in the realm of control where, save for an ability to instantly turn 360, it beats the PC to Bejeezus and back. And yes, you will be getting a cookie for that reference you fat, mustachioed, perverted Italian neighbor.

Medal of Honor 2: Heroes, The Conduit, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Call of Duty: World at War, and the upcoming Grinder and Red Steel 2 (using WiiMotionPlus). When the next gen comes out and motion controls are revealed to be much more than a gimmick, I believe they will eventually bleed over into PC territory. That being said...

Patches and mods. Oh, well. I guess you win this round, PC. Tight-ass console companies with their lawyers and licensing issues...grumble grumble.

I can see how, from an objective standpoint, how the controls on PC are better, but that doesn't stop me from being shit with them. I just can't do an FPS on a PC for the life of me. I know that you're more precise and have better control over aiming on a PC, i'm still crap at it so i'll stick with my console

Yes, single-point balance is a good way of aiming, that's why any gun designed for ranges greater than you could throw it has at least two. The Wiimote is ok if you want to simulate pistol accuracy and useless for anything else.

When you can pixel-perfect snipe someone through the eye with an analogue stick, you let me know.

The auto-aim in that game is ridiculous.
Point your gun in the general direction of an enemy, and look though the sight/scope, and it'll be dead-on and you just have to pull the trigger.
It's certainly helpful, but it's just... wrong.
I meant without aim-assist xD

search bar is your friend. *hugs searchbar :3*
OT: i prefer PC mainly coz we have steam which gives us lots of fun games for a cheap price. Plus the PC has upgrades (i.e. faster mouse..... that's actually basically it besides graphics) and it is much easier with the WASD system to me

I disagree, but I realize that neither of us is gonna change. It's like a mac vs. pc thing - well, not really, since macs are only getting better and pc's are shit, but you get my point.

I've spent many an hour in the early to mid 90's playing Doom and other FPS's on my PC. I never truly got used to it. As soon as Turok came with the dual-analogues I fell in love. See, mouse-and-keyboard just never felt natural to me, and after about 30 minutes dual analogue did.

You obviously know how to fire a real gun. That's another difference. If I were a hunter or a former marine sniper or a cop, I'd probably feel different about the wiimote vs. mouse + keyboard.

Edit: and you're not getting the cookie.

It becomes tiresome with other people trying to enforce the rules, let the mods do it or just report it.

If not we end up with 10's of comments saying "we don't look kindly on so and so threads here". Those comments are more frequent than actual flaming/trolling.

Besides, it makes us sound like some sort of cult. Next we'll be telling him he needs to pull down his trousers whilst we spank him with a paddle before he can make his next post.
Fair enough, it doesn't become tiresome for me. I think it reinforces how important it is to the community when we have so many of those comments. If we could get those same amount of people to use the report button, however, I agree things would be better off. I don't know what people's problems are with hitting the button.

I don't think there's a slippery slope either, just expectations. Everyone in every walk of life has to live up to them at some point.

You mean I shouldn't've listened to/gone along with those other guys who told me that's the way things work around here? Why couldn't someone have told me before I couldn't sit down for a week?

Consoles, I always hated mouse and keyboard controls, especially for FPSs. Though I had fun on Counter Strike, I kicked some ass, I totally sucked on Halo for the PC.

Although I prefer consoles over PC, when it comes to FPS controls, there's no beating the mouse and keyboard. Seriously, FPS's were designed with those controls in mind.

Truthfully I can't play on PC except for games like Fallout 3 etc. Only because I can't zoom correct my aim and shoot all at one time on a PC. Although that may just be me. NOTE: Made this account just to reply to this :p
