No but I want one :p
HA! that is awesome! but while me and my girlfriend do game, its more because we are about 800 miles apart and it's one of the things that at least helps us stay in touch. Its fortunate that i found someone who likes first person shooters and all... but it gets almost to a disturbing degree when anything explosive involved. this is a girl that stabbed me in the back with an energy sword all because i had picked up a rocket launcher with one shot left. she loves explosives.

but no, i have no doubt in my mind that if she was in the room with me, she would resort to these type of tactics. awesome picture, good sir
LOL that sounds like the type of girl that I would marry in a heartbeat :p

Only one and I lost her to WoW... I'd be willing to date a gamer again but she'd have to be able to tell when a game is just physically bad for you, like meth... and be capable of putting the game pipe down for a day or two once a week to have a life.

i am a gaming girlfriend, and i've had a couple of girlfriends who were kinda into games and one who was a Guild Wars addict. i'm the kind of girl who's more into gaming than anyone she could possibly date, male OR female. i can kick my boyfriend's ass at Reach, and he knows it. i wish i knew more girls into the type of games i like, though, like Blade Kitten or Record of Agarest War, games where there's either really fun platforming or where the characters are actually a factor in the progression, unlike your run-of-the-mill FPS where the story progresses by you shooting everyone in the face with your machine-gun-testicles. (no offense to FPS-fans. i like FPSes, but the story is just too weak in most of them, which is why i restrict myself to Halo titles and the rare non-Halo title which i think looks promising.)

Nah, I wish she did. Love my wife more than anything, and it's a shame I can't share my hobby with her. She really doesn't like any kinds of games, video or otherwise. Doesn't like to play cards, etc, either. She's fun with a good sense of humor, though, not to mention being one of the most thoughtful and generous people I know. She's a great mother.

I used to play Twisted Metal with my college girlfriend as a date (her console, her idea). But she was also unaffectionate and maybe even a little aloof.

Common interests are valuable, but not nearly as important as compatible personalities and willingness to put the other first.

Strangely, more go for table top, "Doctor Who", and anime than video games. Those that did the video game thing I never gamed with, it was more of a time apart activity.

First of all, where are the options for people who don't care for girlfriends?

Second, what makes you think that you're getting serious answers?
Ok first: If you don't care for girlfriend, why are you on this thread?

Secondly: I gave two joke options at the end for people who don't want to answer seriously

Third: Lighten up. We're all having fun here. Don't be a kill joy.

my girlfriend plays games but it's mostly mario stuff on Wii or Fruit Ninja on her ipad. Wish she could get in to the more "serious" stuff with me :-/

Guys don't like women they feel threatened by. That's why for so much of our history women have been deeply socially and sexually repressed. All because of men who were afraid of losing their boners.

Adversely, girls don't like men they feel threatened by either. Which is why so many girls love having a gay guy friend. A guy they can feel completely comfortable with. It's just that women have never been in power enough to impose their insecurities on us like we have on them.
Which kinda sucks, because I as a dude would find it awful when a potential girlfriend would want me to play worse than I could. Just man up and loose bravely, get better, then beat me. Or the other way around of course if she's better. Without such respect and recognition of one another's skills, not just in games, I don't see any relationship lasting.

And competition is kinda hot, like an aphrodisiac...*cough* ...yeah.

This is true. Unfortunately, most girls who game know that they're a commodity and use it as a license to act like fools. Women who don't game don't get lulled into that false sense of security that they're beautiful and attainable no matter what they do. I think this makes the non-gaming variety a lot nicer most of the time.
Funny, the one's I've met, both beautiful and heavy gamers, were actually very insecure about themselves. And really, I have no idea why.

I believe the term for me is "forever a scone". Not sure why I'm a delicious pastry, but whatever. Memes never make sense.

We've been married for 10 years, we don't share consoles (key to a happy gaming marriage), we've played MMOs together for just over 7 years and are eagerly awaiting Dragon Age 2.
Truer words have ne'er been spoken. My husband and I, after moving in together, almost instantly set up our living room with two televisions and separate consoles. Split screen/shared screen gaming ruins marriages.

And it's nice that we can play two totally different games as well, side by side. Right now he's playing FFXIII and I'm bouncing between Persona 3 and Valkyria Chronicles on a whim. We're constantly muting one tv's volume and turning up the other whenever one of us has a cutscene.
It only gets better, now that our oldest son is of age (6 years old this week), we set up his Xbox account. We've got her Xbox up stairs, 2 PCs downstairs (we're still playing MMOs together FFXI, FFIXV and waiting for Old Republic). There's a PS3 in our living room and a Wii somewhere in the house.

Gaming has become a family activity, we're enjoying Marvel vs. Capcom tourneys after dinner and we even got a Kinect to see what that was all about...

My girlfriend just recently got into Disgaea. Since she's never played a tactical rpg before I have to help her out a lot. But she's a completionist and she loves the characters and the art style. So once she gets her head wrapped around the game mechanics I'm sure she'll take the game farther than I ever did. (There's tons of content after the main story I never touched)

She got me into pokemon and Persona and our roles were reversed with me having to ask her something every five minutes.

So, do any of you have, or have had, a gamer girlfriend? Share your experiences.

PS. We recently bought a bearded dragon lizard. We named him Laharl. :)
Ya I have a girlfriend into gaming, although its clear Im into it way more than her.

Ya know... even though we both HATE children and will never have any I still found that adorable and touching. :D Good for you man.
