After my gay wedding, I intend to purchase airtime to play snippets of the ceremony during the superbowel, and other sporting events.

Thus becoming the first gay person to ever "rub it in [someone's] face".

For gay unions, against gay marrige (because marrige is between a man and a women gay marrige is a contradiction in terms.)

I agree that homosexuals should be treated equally, and have the same rights as everyone else. If a gay man and a gay woman want to get married to eachother, I see no problem with that.

Honestly, if it's not hurting anyone, and it makes them happy, I don't see the problem. I also don't really give a shit if they call it "marriage" or "domestic partnership". Because if both parties get the same rights, then you changing the name of the 'event' is just plain denial.

So long as they don't rub it in my face and try to make me follow them, they can do what they want.
Two questions:

1. When you say "don't rub it in my face", do you mean it like the same way when heterosexual married couples go off after the ceremony in their ribbon clad cars and beep at everyone who go by to 'express' their happiness?

2. How exactly can they get you to 'follow' them...? Are you afraid that with homosexuals getting the same rights as normal married couples they might somehow force you to beome gay and then marry some other guy...? Your point is lost to me.

I really think you have to be pretty off the wall if you're against it. I myself am homophobic, and i hope people understand the word before throwing it around like some idiots out there who thinks it means the same as racist.....oh what the hell here it is. "pho⋅bi⋅a   /ˈfoʊbiə/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [foh-bee-uh] Show IPA
?noun a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it." there you go, and yes I am for gay marriage, everyone deserves equal rights and I've been married for 6 years and trust me if your argument against gay marriage is some BS about the "sanctity" of marriage, then go ahead and turn on your television and watch how many heterosexual people sell out their marriages for sponsor money on the bachelor or who wants to marry my useless son or something along the lines, so get off your highhorse if anything gay people deserve it more than we do.
You're...afraid of gays? I've got to say I've never heard of that.

How does something like that manifest itself?

I think it should be legal.
They can stick with their 'civil unions' since the grand majority of folks in the USA are evangelical Christians or say they are, following a church so they can live with a shallow idea of redemption while they are douchebags to the remainder of people different from them (including homosexuals).
So really, regardless of the fact that many disagree with two men or women joining hands it definitely should be made legal.

I don't really care what people promise each other, and I don't see a good reason why marital vows (which vary much in their form and content) should be limited to those who have a, reproduction-wise, matching set of genitals.

Why do people act like gay marriage is going to be the downfall of the nation? Two consenting men/women getting married in Kentucky isn't going to cause you to does of some kind of plague in Tennessee, and you wouldn't be any wiser to it. That's like losing sleep at night because someone on the internet has a different opinion than you.

I have yet to come across a single argument against gay marriage that I find compelling or valid. The vast majority are based on innocent ignorance at best and simple homophobia at worst.

I dont understand the point of it, why are the trying so hard to be Hetero? .

Is there a special benefit to being married or something??

because i dont get this craze for marriage.
They're not trying to be hetero, they're trying to gain equal rights. There are several benefits; from a legal standpoint, the most important difference is tax benefits of a marriage, although there are a number of other issues as well - for instance, in several states, even if a gay person leaves their estate to their partner in their will, since they're not married and thusly not legally a part of the family, the state can appropriate the estate and distribute it to the deceased's relatives.

my 2%:
If 2 people love each other, they have every right to get married.
The marriage between 2 gay people will not cause any bad consequences to any individual or society in general
Biblical arguments are irrelevant; separation of church and state means the church does not have control over the state, and vice versa
and if gay marriage somehow offends you: DON'T GET ONE.

I've been reading this, and the phrase, "they deserve to be treated as equals" or something similar comes up quite a bit. What inequality is there? There's nothing preventing gays from exercising the right to get married. They, in fact, are choosing not to use it.
