I also don't really give a shit if they call it "marriage" or "domestic partnership". Because if both parties get the same rights, then you changing the name of the 'event' is just plain denial.
Two questions:Michael_McCloud said:So long as they don't rub it in my face and try to make me follow them, they can do what they want.
1. When you say "don't rub it in my face", do you mean it like the same way when heterosexual married couples go off after the ceremony in their ribbon clad cars and beep at everyone who go by to 'express' their happiness?
2. How exactly can they get you to 'follow' them...? Are you afraid that with homosexuals getting the same rights as normal married couples they might somehow force you to beome gay and then marry some other guy...? Your point is lost to me.
Shut down
You're...afraid of gays? I've got to say I've never heard of that.sleeperhit79 said:I really think you have to be pretty off the wall if you're against it. I myself am homophobic, and i hope people understand the word before throwing it around like some idiots out there who thinks it means the same as racist.....oh what the hell here it is. "pho⋅bi⋅a   /ˈfoʊbiə/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [foh-bee-uh] Show IPA
?noun a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it." there you go, and yes I am for gay marriage, everyone deserves equal rights and I've been married for 6 years and trust me if your argument against gay marriage is some BS about the "sanctity" of marriage, then go ahead and turn on your television and watch how many heterosexual people sell out their marriages for sponsor money on the bachelor or who wants to marry my useless son or something along the lines, so get off your highhorse if anything gay people deserve it more than we do.
They're not trying to be hetero, they're trying to gain equal rights. There are several benefits; from a legal standpoint, the most important difference is tax benefits of a marriage, although there are a number of other issues as well - for instance, in several states, even if a gay person leaves their estate to their partner in their will, since they're not married and thusly not legally a part of the family, the state can appropriate the estate and distribute it to the deceased's relatives.Gamine said:I dont understand the point of it, why are the trying so hard to be Hetero? .
Is there a special benefit to being married or something??
because i dont get this craze for marriage.
