I just feel like the people who keep telling me to get a life lack one themselves. Case and point, emo kids, jocks who live for sports, quidos, etc. So really, who doesn't have the life?

I usually agree with them.
I don't have a life. Not much point continuing an argument I know I can't win.

They be all like "Get a life" and I be all like "Fuck you".

And then I bust out my kung fu.

What problems in life cannot be solved by busting out the kung fu?

What do you say in response to this muscular young biochemist who just trolled in to the room/server with absolutely no flaws that can be seen?
Fixed that one for you. :p

As to my response, it usually bottles down to something like:

"Thanks, but my heart is still pumping blood and my lungs still inhale air, thus I evidently already possess a life." (spoken in a monotone, matter-of-fact way)

So far no one has been able to provide an adequate response to that one. I guess I just kill their "fun" with facts and blunt relativism.

Ha!

Although...I'd think that'd be lost on folks here and not just due to traditional dietary habits.

"Tsss. Ooh. Man. That hurt dude. That's harsh. You cut me to the quick there. It's true: my life is bland and unfulfilling." *fake a sobbing sniff* In a thick voice: "Excuse me guys. I'm gonna go cut myself now. I just can't take it anymore. I can't stand YOUR LAMENESS!" *laugh at offender's expense* "Seriously, where'd you get that? Did your big brother tell you that?" *more laughing* "Dude, you really need to sign up for comeback school. Unless you already flunked out!" *continue laughing until you cry*

That's if I was on my game, had a few buddies with me and there were no people nearby I felt I needed to retain the respect of (teachers, parents, relatives, certain friends, etc.). Mostly while trashtalking on an fps.

Guy: Get a life nerd.
Me:Oh I'm sorry, I can't hear you over my superior intelligence and ability to play 5 different instruments.
Guy:So what, I don't care
Me:Ok, then why are you bothering me? Are you trying to prove that you are better than me in some way?
Guy: No, you just need to get a life.
Me: Define life.

That's when they leave after insulting me one more time. If not, I point out that their idea of life is idiotic and will get them killed faster than jumping off a building. Then I say no thanks, I'll take my good future and leave. Or go along with their statement until they realize I've made the whole thing into a joke and they haven't realized it the whole time.

Thanks for the psycho response. I'm not clever enough to say something that badass off the top of my head :(

It depends on the situation, I'd need to know what this person has said so i can twist their words into a horrific, deformed mass and then through it at them with full force.

Your "poorly thought out one" is pure genius, if I said that I am pretty sure if I dropped that line to someone watching me play a videogame the would either stop or be so confused that I could turn the situation around.

Or something like "I couldn't quite hear you, your voice is muffled by how far it is lodged up your own ass"

If it was over the internet I would ignore them.

Anyone who says get a life needs to get a life. My response to such a statement would be completely contextual, basically psychoanalysis used very maliciously. I'm a fairly nice person but anyone who says that is obviously trying to start shit,so I have no problem calling it as I see it. Result: person is humbled/angry/ashamed as I would be if I were them.

I'd probably try to say something like;

Are you kidding me? I'm having WAY too much fun for that!

I picked "other response" under the assumption that "explain below" would be my response to the question.

"But how do you kill that which has no life?"
"If I didn't have a life I'd be dead, do I look like a zombie to you?"
Or explain I do have a life, it's in front of my computer and I am quite happy.

I just don't respond, because it doesn't matter in the slightest what this nosy dumbass thinks. Although, if he were just waiting around for an answer, I would just look him dead in the eye and tell him something like:

I don't care. At all. In fact, nothing about you strikes me as worthy of caring. Your appearance, your intelligence (or lack thereof)... nothing about you is good or even noteworthy in the slightest. People like you- stupid, self-obsessed, materialistic losers- are a blight on the face of humanity. If you died, no one would care. You are a worthless waste of human flesh, good only to fertilize the ground. If by "get a life" you mean "be more like me" I will have to decline. Good day.

Well, it probably wouldn't be that loquacious. But you get the gist of it. Basically, don't care, never will, no one loves you.

I said "other", because I didn't know if this qualified as a psycho response, or just a darkly dismissive one.
