You'd be surprised - I've got some extra pudge on me (body by nintendo), but working in video game stores, or even when I'm shopping around for comics and manga, I got hit on by men I thought were waay out of my league (oh, the ego boosts!). Confidence works both ways... and that's the moral of the story kids!
Haha. Yeah, I've had a few guys hit on me for some reason and my best boy mate apparently fancies me like mad.
Ugh, I remember when an Asian fellow asked if we wanted to get a hotel room together... Bleurgh.
I'm taken bacon anyway XD
D: Bleh, I've never had a guy be that up front with me... I'm glad though, because when a guy starts getting too insistent '***** Mode' switches on, and it's never a good feeling to completely tell a guy off. A necessary evil sometimes.

If less than 90% of them vote "I like the bad boys because they treat me like dirt" they're lying.

Otherwise they wouldn't keep going back to the jackasses that keep hitting and belittling them.
Dude, that's not a normal relationship, that abuse. And if you think that's what goes on in a normal relationship, it's no wonder you get rejected.

Anecdata, but of the many, many relationships I know of, only a handful have involved something like the hitting and belittling thing-- and most of that was in the confines of the bedroom and was safe, sane and consensual. The other couple of relationships were the ones that I tried to get my friends out of, because abusive relationship suck like nothing else.

correction: 10.5% are actually girls, but 82.5% are too scared to believe it o.o

and 7% are guys pretending to be teenage girls (has anyone actually seen a guy pretend to be anyone over the age of 19?)
Wow that is creepy... Why would you pretend to be a girl o_O

Erm.

What?

Did it ever cross that testosterone-charged mind of yours that those "bad boys" are just as bad as your so-called "pathetic losers"? They want the exact same thing. SEX. Just because they go about it in different ways doesn't make one pathetic or better than the other.

I also detest your generalization that all nice guys are only nice because they think that's the only way they'll get any. That is some straight-up, classic bullshit. I'll fully admit that I'm a wuss. Does that mean I'm only nice because that's the only way I'll ever get laid?

Fuck no.

I act nice because, hey, guess what, I like pleasing people. Making others happy. I'm ignored as a romantic notion by my peers, and I don't particularly mind.

So, in conclusion; don't generalize.

I think the Superman, Batman analogy sums it up pretty well. Superman is the guy that women want to marry, but Batman is the guy that women want to date. Does that help?
I don't want to date Batman. He's an angst-ridden freak who hides in the shadows and LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMS. TBF, though, I also think Superman is boring as hell.

If you're going to use the comic metaphor, Gambit's the guy most girls I know like.

(I like Mister Terrific best, myself.)

That is a forum-worthy question on its own... My guess is that they like to trick people - griefers if you will.

A lot of so-called "Bad Boys" are not actually bad boys, IME. They end up looking like a jerk to guys like the ones on this thread who see that fact that they're getting rejected as a slur on the "bad boy"'s character.

And honestly, many, many women have developed a good sense for telling when someone is interested in them for sex, and a guy who's straightforward about it is a hell of a lot less annoying than someone who's passive aggressive. Maybe that bad boy is in it for sex-- maybe that's what the woman wants. In that case, why not choose the guy who is straight-forward and forthright about his attraction?

Maybe you're not nice because it will get you laid, but be damn sure that the wussy passive-aggressive shit turns people off. It doesn't preclude you ever getting laid, but it's still annoying as anything.

Wait, who suggested you were a girl? Also, If nothing is certain then the creepy guy and his spineless ass might just pick up a girl because he is spineless and a girl might shaft him for a bad boy, BECAUSE the other man is abusive. Not because The other man is decisive.

Saying nothing is certain invalidates any advice, because all of it is equally likely to be wrong.
could have sworn i saw something on the last page. probably read it wrong. just gotta be clear, because it would probably affect how people view my opinions i guess, i don't know

I wouldn't say that nothing being certain invalidates any advice. It's not an absolute thing. Though nothing is certain, there is still correlation between acting in a particular way and having particular responses. Let's say you're a cool guy trying to pick up a girl, it's likely that you'll score, but not definite. If I could put it into numbers, it might be 70% or 80% whatever. There's still the possibility that you won't score.

Of course all this is simplified, so whatever
Then it would be 70 to 80% certain would it not? Then something would be certain. That thing being that acting in this particular manner harbors better results. We are arguing semantics though. On topic, do you believe that some girls go out with Bad boys simply for the fact that they are Bad Boys? Not necessarily because they are more...direct.

And please, I refuse to pay 8 bucks to see my childhood ripped apart again... I refuse to see that movie! Why did they do that to Deadpool? Why?! *weep* He can't teleport, you maniacs! Damn yous, damn yous all to hell!!

PFFT. Then you haven't talked to many women. Even if he's not their favorite character, a lot of female comic fans have an Opinion on Gambit. He's got the "Bad Boy" thing down, after all-- he's dark, mysterious, handsome, kind of slutty, and won't return your calls in the morning. And don't get me started on the thief thing...

I could start talking about bromance, but that would be entirely off-topic. I mean, hell-O Victor and James! Talk about a bromance.

I think there's a difference in who you're attracted to as a teenager versus who you're attracted to as an adult. Tastes, in all things, grow and mature. Many teenagers, myself included, went for the bad boy image in high school. But upon leaving school and entering the so-called real world, I found those same guys were usually the ones with the crappy jobs or insufferable personalities.

As a note, too, confidence is attractive in moderation. It bugs me when a guy thinks he's cool enough to get any woman in the room. I walk away from those guys. Ego is not attractive. It just makes you look like a jackass. Of course, I tend to walk away from a lot of guys. Happily single here.

I think a lot of women like a bit of a thrill, my husband is a very 'respectable' man, he has a good job, he?s tidy, he an cook really well, my mum loves him and yet he had a pretty shady time as a teen and he's very wild and adventurous in some ways and I love that - my ex was nice but unreliable and unexciting and I don't think that's a good combo in anybody let alone a partner choice.

Obviously though that depends on the girl, if she's more introverted perhaps a true 'bad boy' would be a terrifying prospect. I like roller coaster danger, all the excitement of impending death but none of the actual fear meaning I love that my hubby is masculine and fiesty but would never actually hit or hurt me nor speak to me like I was dirt

As other people have said, what is yr deffinition of a bad boy, and a nice guy? Most guys probably think they're nice, unless they're sociopaths, so they don't care, and that's why they get all the tail. If it's just a style thing, then, well, a 'bad boy' is really the same as everyone else and has the same potential to be really nice or really a jerk.

I've dated a lot of guys, the majority of which were gamers, because that's who I know. Most of them were nice. A few were jerks, and yes, I tolerated the jerkiness more if the guy was hot, but the jerkyer he got, the less attractive he was to me. But a lot of women have issues. Girls raised fatherless, or with abusive fathers, are taught that love means a certain thing, or that they're not worthwhile and that anyone who wants them is doing them a favor. Inexperience and psychological problems, that's what makes girls want guys that treat them badly.

Guys learn this, too, and become overly passive sometimes. Each person has something to offer, and if you learn to like yourself and understand what you want, girls will respond to that.
