Note: If you are a PC gamer, then fuck off, we're talking about consoles.
Between that and the one "Yep, they've got it all." poll option (may be a mistake that is fixed by the time I post this, maybe not), makes me wonder where your biased lies.

But no, they haven't "won", nobody has "won". Way I see it, Xbox One is not something I'm going to buy, but that doesn't mean I will buy a PS4. If they both suck, I'll skip both. Nintendo, well, I already have a Wii U, so can't say much there. I do have a PC, too, which I have more games than anything on, so there is always that option. What really "wins" is the games.

I don't think they will win but they won't lose either. Much like how this gen doesn't have a clear winner, neither will the next. I think the PS4 will sell more, but this gen also proved having more sales doesn't make you a winner in the gamer's eyes.

They've yet to clarify their policy on DRM or address any of the rumours about second-hand sales beyond "We're leaving it up to publishers". They've yet to announce price. There are still plenty of ways Sony could fuck this up.
Very true, but all they have to do is confirm this stuff isn't true and release at a lower price point and they've got it made.

The Xbox One is the best PR Sony and Nintendo have ever had. Let's hope those two don't fuck it up.

Seriously though £429?! Fuck that!

I think it's a little too early to start asking if Sony won when they haven't even presented yet. We're gonna have to wait for that tonight, and then tomorrow is Nintendo Direct and who knows what they'll be bringing. Let's wait until after E3 is over before we start declaring any winners.

Thank you Scolipede,

I find it hysterical that after a conference where Microsoft focused on games, people say they still suck. I agree that the Xbox One is horrid as a console, but the games they showed are pretty kickass. Especially Titanfall.

That's the issue. I'm one of those cynical people who don't think Sony will make that announcement. I think it's pretty clearly looking like there's going to be some form of publisher-led DRM with games on PS4. There's no way publishers would push Microsoft for such a restrictive system while not expecting the same from Sony. Their previous comments have suggested DRM from publishers. I'm expecting a confirmation of that sometime soon, not a refutation.
I do get that line of reasoning but it could go either way. It's not a stretch to think that if one console has it then so will the other as that's what the publishers want, but on the other hand if one console does have DRM and the other one doesn't, the console that doesn't have it will get a larger install base. Either way is beneficial for publishers so I think it's too early to call. We'll have to wait and see.

The fact that it doesn't require an internet connection is already a step up from the Xbone.

As long as they don't absolutely destroy themselves tonight, they should have no trouble. Especially if their price is lower than Microsoft's.

Yeah, that's the main issue here. IF Sony admits to letting DRM on the console then things get a LOT more complicated. We could very well see a lot of people migrate to PCs or the Wii U.

Sadly no, people will just burn out on eggs box hatred and then still go buy it like spineless dummies... that is just level of the willpower your average gamer posses.

I'd say in general when your major product announcement makes your rivals stock price go up that there's certainly a problem. That said Sony hasn't clarified their position on anything. However they would have to be trying pretty hard at this point to be less consumer friendly than M$. Not saying that it can't or won't happen just that they'd have to be actively trying to fuck themselves over. In short Sony has positioned themselves as the lesser of two evils. Whether that will bare out with actual sales is anyone's guess.

Out of all of them, only around 4 of those "exclusives" looked any fun. Then again, two of which I were already fans of before hand. Crimson Dragon and Titanfall are the only two new IPs that look interesting, not enough to buy an Xbox One for and suffer through the shitty DRM they have on the console.
Note, I didn't say I wanted an Xbox One. Halo and Titanfall as well as Crimson Dragon looking fucking awesome. But the Xbox One with it's horrid control over it's consumers is what is putting me on edge away from it. Also the price point.

My choice is PS4 because of better specs, Watch Dogs and Thief. I was going to spend my money on new gaming PC but that is a no no because of Windows 8.

I have to say it's pretty disheartening to see so many people making this about a fight between Microsoft and Sony. When Microsoft showed off the Xbox One everyone just lumped with Sony, even though Sony has made some terrible decisions too. While all this debate between the two consoles rages about how people wish they'd get their act together, Nintendo is quietly sitting in the corner offering the most console gaming experience out of the 3, with backwards support, indi games, no DRM, free internet, TV functionality that doesn't obscure the gaming experience, less motion controls, cheapest price, and semi-unattached gaming experiences. Nintendo is basically offering everything gamers want out of a console but no one is looking at them.

This isn't to say that nintendo is the best choice or is perfect or anything of the sort... but out of the 3 gaming consoles out there I can't help but think that the Wii U should be getting more credit than it is.
