This is true, though I'm not sure it's required.

I usually have some sort of odd combination of pride and distaste for everything I create. There are very few occasions where I've been completely satisfied with my art (in any of the mediums I'm partial to).
Practically.
I never have a problem seeing the flaws in my work - I can only see the flaws in everything else, so it's only natural.
Yet in the past you've claimed perfection.
I feel I must point out this contradiction.

I've hated pretty much everything that I've ever drawn and most of the time I'm surprised when my photographs get as much praise as they sometimes do.

I don't hate anything that I've created, even the amazingly purple prose angst poetry I wrote when I was 15. Sometimes I get embarrassed about it but I like to look back and go, that's where I was at the time.

I also have no patience for a lot of people that endlessly belittle their own work. I understand that some people are perfectionists and thus will never be happy with what they create. And some people cannot take praise of any kind. But I do believe in standing by your own work, and not just seeing the flaws.

And I often go through and re-read my own work.

I play the guitar, have done so 'seriously' for roughly 2.5 years now. I can play most songs that I find a tab to, and some songs I can play by ear.

However. Even though I know a whole lot of scales, I can't use techniques I've learned, such as sweep picking or arpeggios, on those scales. I've searched the internet for lessons to explain, and I must've spent a good 200 euros on online lessons that have failed to deliver. It's quite frustrating, being able to play sweeps more or less perfectly, but not being able to apply them wherever I want.

So, yes, I hate my art. But one of these days, god damnit I will succeed.

Well the only form of "art" I do here is write. And honestly, when I look back over what I've written, or I come across an old post of mine, I can't help but think that its written in such a pretentious style that I'm surprised anyone can care enough to read it. Having said that, there are also times I scan over what I've written and find a real gem, something that I'm surprised I typed, a heat of the moment esque phrase that I really like and can even be proud that I've written.

As for the poll, I voted "Yes" but it was a hesitant yes - maybe there should be an option for "a bit of both"...

I suppose that's true. XD
I am also a creature of awesomeness.

Ask one of my many followers.
Well of course your followers would say that, now wouldn't they?
Exclaiming the excellence of their leader is what followers do.
Especially yours, since they all seem to think they're your second in command.

I think everybody sees more flaws in their work than most others do, because unless you're very vain you'll be constsntly critiquing your work. Nothing's perfect and finding flaws is just a sign that you have the right mentality for a creative person.

I don't know whether to hate a lot of my work, so I put it up to one of my friends, who is probably the harshest critic I know.
That or I flip a coin on it.

Im told Im a very good writer. I personally think its bullshit since i hate everything I write. Im trying to expand onto song writing. If i thought that my writing is shit, my song writing is.... just horrific. I showed it to this one girl and she loved it though. I guess im too awesome to even realize it.

Mostly I draw gay porn. The crowd for that is supremely easy to please, but all that really means is that I have to pay close attention to my progress. Looking back on my old work makes me cringe and/or want to stab myself.

All the time. It also depends on my mood; the worse I feel, the harsher I criticise my own work.

Ignoring Max and his baby killing dreams... =/

I make games, which I would call my 'art'. I'm not the worst person I know when it comes to tearing apart my own creations but I'm very close. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy my games though!
