So, American? Yes?

You wonder why you guys have the highest gun crime ratio eh?

Anyway, for me, I used to carry a blade when I thought it made me cool. Here in Canada it's, cept maybe in Toronto or is organized crime related, always fisticuffs. Thank god.
Haha, that's hilarious, no one carries around that much weaponry in America XD

I assumed he was talking about the middle east or gun-fight-topia, where all people that post on the internet about being "from the hood" are.
I carry that much weaponry around in America. Gotta problem with it... uh... oh damn what do these ghetto street children say these days? Uhhm... Dawg, Son, uhhh n******?

No, and yes I am an American (shock)
This can not be! You must be in possession of at least one firearm!
If you wish I will send you my spare Saiga.
It's okay. I'm still saving up for a pimped out panzer tank

Well I guess I can give you my spare Panzer instead. You'll have to pimp it out yourself though. :p

I'm getting a new knife(http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=SWMP1BS) in the mail soon, actually. Just bought a butterfly knife at a gun show for lulz, and for self defense.

A good motto is "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." If some punk decides it would be a good idea to attempt to rob me, you can be damn sure I'll cut his ass to ribbons before he takes anything.

I live in Ireland, so handguns aren't an issue.
People have tried to mug me a few times but you just don't make eye contact say 'sorry can't help you' and keep walking. It works, shrug.
They're generally with a mate and think they're the ultimate hardass, challenging them just makes them feel the need to defend their honour or some bullshit.
Anyway if it comes to it a nearby wall / the pavement / a rock is a pretty damn good weapon and will be a decent match for whatever they're likely to have.
Humans are pretty fragile.
And I'm a small enough guy to get away with being a dirty git.

I've never carried a weapon. I live in Northern Ireland, which can be dangerous, but it's not exactly Long Beach.

I'm saving up for a Gundam though

I make sure to bring my sawed off Mossberg 500 if I go into the backwoods or just going hiking. I need to get a CCW though so I can keep a handgun on me though I would definitely feel more comfortable with one that much I know.

I live in Las Vegas, 4th most dangerous city in the US. And as I said I have personal experiance.
Vegas is harsh, i dont even go down to the strip without a knife, i usually go with others, but im the biggest guy usually, so people assume i would take the attacker down
I used to live on D Street. It just wasn't safe to be outside after dark there.
Wow, is Vegas really that bad??? cause for a while ive wanted to work there as a paramedic...

Pocket knife. No it's not much, but I'm also strong as hell, and can fight better than most other people I know. Yeah, it might be arrogant, but when you can nearly knock a horse out when you punch it, you've probably earned it.

I did at one point carry a small weight bar (about 12") in my back pack, after hearing that muggings were becoming popular around certain areas near college.

Then I started learning Wing Chun, chinese boxing, Escrima Stick fighting, and JKD (before my teacher got more people turning up and started charging doulbe digits for one lesson...as well as monthly membership fees).

So at one point I had my gym bag which had two 32" practice Chinese broad swords and one 36" spring steel display chinese broad sword that would and has gone easily through leather with the tip, and three pairs of Escrima sticks. I keep them all at home now since I moved to the US, and it's more likely for something to happen at home than anywhere else.

Besides you will just wind up in trouble for carrying that crap around, let alone injuring someone with it, I'll stick to take downs and breaks if it came to it.

I live in NH and never feel unsafe. Even when I lived in NY for school I always felt safe for the most part. I occasionally carry a pocket knife on me, but not for self defense.

Boo friggin who mate. My goal isn't to get into fights its to avoid confrontation via any means necessary including the threat of force. As long as I only escalate force in accordance with the threat it is completely legal - right down to stabbing the attacker to death, if he stabs me.

I've actually been stabbed once, by a drug addict. He ended up in hospital and Im still here, thats where my mentality has gotten me. I know how I react under difficult and stressful circumstances. I can say with absolute certainty that if I needed to I could draw a weapon and use it to defend myself or others.

My reply was directly to another poster telling me to go read some books about knife fighting, my statement
From behind with a stiletto, you'd never even know I was there.
Was intended purely as a hypothetical reply to his post.

Now you and your high horse can go jump off a fucking cliff.
Good day sir.

And you're absolutely right, and no one would argue that point, but your post didn't exactly read like someone who even knew what the fuck he was talking about. It read more as some cocky kid who was going to end up dead. Sorry if I got a little overboard, but I don't like seeing people potentionally living under delusions that can get them killed, so I just play it safe and assume everyone else is a moron. If I accidently piss off a few people with that attitude, oh well, shit happens. I'd rather help keep a few people from thinking they're rambo and accidently rage one guy than not say anything at all.

I carry a pocketknife, but that's mostly just for work. HOWEVER, I carry a multitool with two large knives, and a skinning knife. Illegal? Well, yes, but I won't be caught with my pants down.

I always carry a lead pipe with me when I go to a friends house. Well, I'm not sure if its lead but its metal, its heavy , its blunt and if I whack you with it it'll hurt like hell.

I use to carry a small pocket knife with me. Now I sometimes carry a lighter and one of those pocket cans of Axe deodorant. It makes a good flame thrower!
XD I used to do that! I had found a lighter on the way home and had just gotten done reading the Watchmen comic and so I put two and two together and had a makeshift weapon that gave me piece of mind throughout my freshman year. Good times. Good times...
