Story of my life on the Escapist.

I'll never escape being the white mage! D:

Yes, people with Z/P avatars so far tend to be nitwits. Or at least all the ones I can remember.
Save Trivun, in my book. And I always get pleasantly suprised.
Though I don't get why someone would want to call themselves stupid in those pant-hat ZP avatars...

It's not so much prejudice in the case of judging an avatar because it's not like they were born with it, the guy/gal obviously chose that to represent them for some reason. If their avatar is something like a dying fetus sucking on the barrel of a magnum, there's probably something wrong with them.

That said, clearly some avatars are more obvious than others - if you've got a picture of a happy little girl as your avatar, I can't tell if you're a naturally bubbly innocent or a craven pedophile, and I so won't reserve judgment either way.

Sometimes, I guess. It's more that I guess what they could be like and wait to read their posts to see if they actually are like what I guessed.

I judge slightly on the avatar, as in I can make an impression as to why they chose their avatar. Usually the answer is because it's significant to them, such as my The World Ends With You Player Pin... Because I've wasted hours of my life clicking that little pin in the DS corner.
I also take it a step further and judge people on their username. It shows their creativity level and preference for Grammer... Usually. There are cases against this such as people using a name they've had since they were twelve or a play on words like "sdrawkcabmiPLEH" (I love your username, Jason. :D). I fall somewhere inbetween, because ThatOneJewYouNo was a sentence, or a fragment if nothing else. Also, it's 15 characters, the max you can have in your XBox Live Gamertag. Cooincidence? No. Otherwise my name might've really been ThatOneJewYouKnow... Not as appealing to the eye.

But most importantly I judge on their comments, those really show a person. Start a racism topic and I bet you could find at least 30 racists in an hour. Just like if you make a war poll, you find a ton of people opinionated about their governments policy on war. This part seems pretty self-explanatory.

... So by my own study of judgement, I've concluded that I'm an opinionated gamer who spends way too much time thinking about stuff insignificant. :D

I also judge a bit based on the avatar, but not in a negative way. The avatar usually reflects something the user like, a feeling, or is just for fun or generate reactions. I'm surprising myself here because it's one of the very rare moments I use an avatar with a male character, my avatars are usually always from animes.

Even though I'm fairly new to this community, (long time lurker, second time poster), I tend not to judge the avatars, but the posts. When I see a poster enough, then I'll add the associations to the avatar.

Though if someone were to judge me...it'd be quite obvious what game I really like.

For some reason, I tend to look upon users with Anime avatars less favourably. Personal discretion, I guess.

It's so much more easy to do then remember names xD

Edit: I wander what people think of mine?

Yeah I mean those guys can't even pretend they didn't join up because of ZP.

I tend to judge people by their avatar. A lot of the time it's usually "oh that person is into the same geeky shit I'm into, cool"

I also don't like Anime Avatars, but that's just geeky shit I DON'T get.

One thing that trips me up is when a guy is posting a really angry rant, but his avatar is a cartoon character with a *huge*, stupid grin. Intellectually I know that his avatar has absolutely *nothing* to do with what he's saying at the time, but the juxtaposition of the two just makes it absolutely impossible to take his rant seriously.

Part of the reason I chose the Frog avatar is because the attitude he displays is the attitude I try and keep while posting- slightly light-hearted and good-natured but not overly silly.

Some people have avatars that state their opinions, so I do judge in those cases.

I can only hope people think my avatar means I'm a spying badass.

Yes. I apologize to Pararaptor if he sees this, but every time I see that Tim Curry avatar, for a split second that's what I assume he looks like.
