Err, then perhaps you should at least tone down how much you talk about video games?
Lie man, lying is the key to any strong relationship.

What do you do, start you chatup lines with ancedotes from modern warfare?
Hey baby, maybe its your turn to climb up my mountain, and sneak into my forest base. But make sure you bring a snorkel, it may flood at any minute.

Naah.
I got my wife into playing Rainbow Six: Vegas!
We haven't played in forever, but that's because I've been into games that don't do co-op in split screen.
If I picked up Borderlands, I bet I could get her playing again.

I met my fiance(?) on Ragnarok Online, of all things. We began IMing, Skyping and then she flew over to stay with me for three months in summer. I then proposed, and now I'm gearing up for moving to Florida to be with her. So erm...no, my gaming has never been an issue with girls. :'D

Well, video games is seen as the norm where I live. Also, never talk to girls about games unless you know they are a gamer. It's like them talking to you about make-up or to my friend about football it's pointless dribble.

Nope...although I'm not one to talk really right now, I've only been going out with my current girlfriend for just over 12 hours :p
She just calls me a geek if I tell her I'm on the xbox but I don't let it take precedence over her so she's ok with it.

Eh? It wouldn't for me. All the guys in my school like to get stoned and drunk before even thinking about playing MW2.

Nope, hell I managed to get my gf into games to such an extent that yesterday we went shopping and she bought herself 3 PS3 games to play on my PS3 until she gets her own in April, what a legend.
But slightly more on topic, I always thought of games as a backup, like "if I don't manage to get this girl, I can just turn to my games and chill out" but never put them first

Ha, it probably has in some form. It never put itself out so directly since I've never bothered to try and get a date with anybody.

Though, I don't know how much of a part it plays. More likely the answer is no and I don't have a girlfriend by choice, thank goodness. The fact of the matter is, pretty much all of the guys at my school are gamers in some way, so it's largely a take-it-or-leave-it situation for the girls. You're either dating someone who's into video games, or it's safe to say you aren't dating.

It's possible. I guess I have too much of a "anti-social geek" aura and all the girls - hell, and guys - prefer to keep their distance since "ain't no such thing as half-way crooks" (and I'm not a thug nor ghetto in any sense of the term). My blatant cynicism may also have something to do with that too, but I suspect that it's because I'm a gamer at heart and thus, by definition, am not a thug.

That, or I'm so stupidly handsome that all the girls - hell, and guys - think I'm taken.

[sighs]

Such a curse to be such a beautiful geek.
