yes a girlfriend did get in the way of my gaming, but it was for the better. working a 9 to 5 job then a CEO at a 5 to 12 eve online job was not the best way to go, putting that energy into her gave a much better return :p

Meh ive been single for like 3-4 years now, ive had many girls who have wanted to go out with me on some level but it always comes back to i would date you, if you werent so into video games. it is also what came between me and my last girl friend when she pretty much said it would have to be her or the games and even as a teenager i knew she couldnt win that fight. Neway im just wondering if im alone on this or if all women out there are pretty much the same?
I thought this one was worth covering off in the Relationship Problem Thread, so I did. Link is here: ----> http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.117161?page=19#4324768

(and some of you other folks in this thread sure sound like you could use the services of the Relationship Problem Thread judging by the tone of your posts, so please feel free)

No, because I only date girls who play video games. I can't imagine what life would be like if I wanted to stay in to play games, but the gf wants me to go scarf shopping with her.

My ex and I had a great time with video games. In fact, I sneakily got her to buy me Psychonauts for my birthday simply for the fun of watching her play it, because for fucks sake I'm not trying to figure out the Milkman Conspiracy.

Used to.

But it was back in secondary school when you know if you break 1 week, "OMG ITS SERIOUS HOLY JEEZ!"

GF comes in my house.

"Whact'ha dong?"
"Playing Windwaker."
"You're a gamer? I'm leaving."
"Sure."
"Why aren't you crying?"
"Zelda is more important to save than your stupid ass."

She hasn't spoken to me since.

I now have a girlfriend who has a female Assassins costume.

Score.

"z" =/= suitable replacement for "s"

My girlfriend loves gaming as much as I do so I think it is the opposite.

[sub]Though she has been pissed off at me since I imported FFXIII... but I think that will wear off about march 9th... [sub][sub]maybe[/sub][/sub][/sub]

No. If a game comes between myself and a girl then it is not gaming that is at fault but a relationship built on a poor foundation doomed to failure. If I'd rather deal with smack-tards in some online shooter for example, I must think poorly indeed of my girlfriend.

I am not going to give up doing something which I enjoy doing which doesn't counter the rules of being in a relationship because some girl asks, nay, demands I do. Then she'd probably just stop me from having anymore fun just so she could get attention.

Then again I've never had a girlfriend, so you'll have to ask me in a few years time (I mean I'm only 14, 14 year olds who "Date" are just unlikeable cheeseheads who don't care about the poor partner they're lugging around and are only doing it to impress their equally pathetic friends).

I don't think video games ever caused me to never have a girlfriend. It's my social awkwardness and my hatred for romance that caused it.
