Im 185 cm tall and I find it to be a bit too tall, since I often find myself in the rather tedious position of having to bend my knees whenever I have sex with women standing up (since they tend to be shorter than I am). It might work for a few minutes, but after awhile it really hurts my knees. :(

I don't even know how tall I am, so no, I don't really think of it as a big deal. Though, I do like to tease people who are small and cute simply because they would get creeped out if I picked them up and hugged them.

I didn't realize how good I had it when I was a kid. Being six feet tall means I constantly hit my head on things, and it's annoying  I prefer being short.

I'm about 6'4" It makes me feel good. Finding long sleeved dress shirts sucks though.

managers are on average 1.6 inches taller than their employees
tall people are more impressive but on the downside have to duck a lot
we do get to laugh at short people though
although we have to always get things of high shelves for other people
stupid grannies

5ft 10, which I suppose would be average for a white male. I feel this is a good height, because if you're too short it's an inconvenience but if you're very tall it's a weakness.

Well, speaking as a short person, I'll say.....It matters less as you get older. And not because you get taller, people just care less.

I'm 5 foot 7...ish.

I'm not the tallest in the room, nor am I the shortest. I'm fine with that. I don't see the big deal with height.

I'm 6'3".

I don't care about height, although I can reach some things other people have difficulty reaching.

I guess it is important.

I'm somewhere around 5'8 1/2". I really couldn't care less about height. I don't see why anyone should care.

Don't really care about height at all. Tall is tall, short is short, whatever you are is good for you.

In some cultures it can be very important for reasons I cannot began to understand...

Well, I'm 5'10 and my height has never been brought up before nor has anyone's I've known...

I don't think it's a big deal.

For the record, I'm 6 feet, though I suppose to be 6'3 when I hit eighteen. Oddly enough, compared to the rest of my family, I'm rather small.

I find it unusual how a few people I know have a tendancy to round up their height and add one. For example I am 6ft 2 and a bit, I know this for a fact (the tape measure does not lie), yet a few of people I know claim to be this height too and instead claim that I must be 6ft 3 or 4 to justify me being taller and for them being shorter.

So my question is: 'Is height really that much of a big deal that we tend to overestimate it or even exagerate it?
I have had this happen so often. It's kinda weird, but I don't really mind.

It matters to me only because I have a fear of the number 5 and I hated being 5 foot whatever. Now that I'm 6'1, I feel just fine about my height.

I don't care about anyone else's and I don't see it as a status symbol, though on me personally, I think 6 feet is perfect.

Be noble about not caring all you want, people who are taller earn (on average) more money per year and are given better promotions. It's all about other people's perceptions: They see a big dude, and they are like, "Gosh, he sure seems like a good leader. Let's give him money. The average height of a Fortune 500 CEO is something like 3-4 inches taller than the national average. There is no logical reason for this beyond height bias.

It does with dating at least, most girls don't like short guys and most guys don't like it when a girl is taller than they are.

I'm 5'4 and done growing so I'm somewhere around the bottom 2 percentile or so, and belive me when I say it makes it very hard to get a date when you are shorter than a majority of women.

I say yes but that it's just human nature. I'm 6 feet exactly so I am very happy with my height.
