I do. I don't feel "sad", but I feel I let them down. They risk their life to help me in my cause, and most to live for more then 60 seconds. I hate it when people die for a riotous cause. And I don't mean war, because war is dumb. I mean like that kid in china who killed the dude cause he used his higher-up power to pick on the people he is supposed to lead.

I also just finished HL2.

Yes, I know it's a game, I'm not a wuss. Not that much anyway.

I can't feel bad for them...they die way too easily...and all the time. I mean, in most games I feel bad when squadmembers die...but not in Half Life

Nope, because they never do anything human or intelligent really, and I could only care about them if they did.

Sort of.

I certainly try and keep them alive, and I feel a small part of myself go [small]"nooooo"[/small] when one dies...

You don't have to defend that you felt emotion in a game, the best games make you feel things like that.
Although I doubt many people feel anything when one of the faceless spacefillers die.

But what is HL2?

Not really, because I could never be bothered to find out the squad control mechanics and they're quite useless in a firefight.

Dude, I feel bad if I accidently lead my Pikmin into water and let them drown. So yeah, if it happens, I stop and mourn for a bit (usually an hour or so).

I feel so bad when they die I hold a little memorial service where they died.

No, because they only got in my way and deserved to die.

Oddly, the squad-mates deaths never phased me
Though Alyx in Ep2...
. The antlions on the other hand, I always felt bad about. I always did my best to avoid injuring them on the levels where they weren't friendly, and felt bad whenever one tried to stop my car by flying into it I didn't have enough time to avoid them.

Hey Freeman, don't forget to reload!

I dunno. The guys in HL2 were just so expendable, useless and devoid of personality that I almost never even noticed when one died.

oh THOSE squadmates in THAT HL2. I liked the medics, but the others I didn't care about as they did fuck all for me. I thought I was going to have to figure out what other game had H,L and 2 as its initials.
