Don't like it? Don't watch it. Seems like a simple solution to me.
Pissed about how it was made? Make a career change and see how well you could pull it off. If you can't? Cry about it. Both have the same level of affect on me.

one is a bit funnier though. . .

BUT

Add the Dinobots and don't fuck them up.
They are going to screw up whatever they put into the movie. They messed up the Fallen (A flaming herald of Unicron in the comics reduced to an old man) Jetfire (A giant badass in the show reduced to an... old man) and they killed Jazz (One of the only G1 characters to survive the cartoon movie). Case in point, Bay and his team are going to kill everything Transformers then move on to another 80's cartoon and kill it off too.
They would likely make Grimlock an old man, Swoop his wife, Snarl(Slag) a junkie, and Sludge a hippy. Now ask yourself, WOULDN'T THEY?

Let me ask this - have Stanley Kubrick, George Miller, Hayao Miyazaki, or David Lynch ever been given $200 million to throw at a film? Just what kind of film could those guys make with that kind of money?
The movies they made wouldn't have been any better if they had ten times the budget, because money isn't the only thing needed to make a good movie. In fact, from a certain point on, it's probably the least thing needed to make a movie good.

No, it pretty much has been that way all the time. Those forgettable movies from the past... well, they are forgotten, only the important ones survived, that's why you might get the impression there were almost only great movies made back then.
The amount of popcorn-cinema might have been increased, but if that's the case, it's only because ~70% of today's theatrical releases don't even gross the production costs. You can't blame the producers to shit out shiny new versions of movies you've already seen a billion times, because that's the stuff the companies need to survive.

"You didn't like Eyes Wide Shut? Well, next time, I'll try with Shitty Movie #7: The Revenge, maybe that will make it"

Waaaa, waaaa, waaaa... all I ever hear. The 'Screw Bayformers' bandwagon is getting old.

You know what? Do what I did, go see the movies without any great expectations at all and simply enjoy 2 mindless hours of robots duking it out and shit blowing up. Expecting anything more from this franchise on the silver screen is (in my humble opinion) naive at best, moronic at worst. Yeah, I'm a fan, too and I know there are so many ways these movies could have been better, but jumping up and down, crying and screaming, "You raped my childhood!" isn't going to do anyone much good, least of all yourself.
You don't seem to understand.

For the money that was blown on Transformers 2 you could have made 6.6 District 9s.

Let me ask this - have Stanley Kubrick, George Miller, Hayao Miyazaki, or David Lynch ever been given $200 million to throw at a film? Just what kind of film could those guys make with that kind of money? What kind of film could Michael Bay make with that kind of money? Well we know now don't we, Transformers 2. In reality I think we always knew. That is the point. Take a chance on something new and edgy? Try something outlandish and creative? Try to make a film that is unique and will be remembered? Naah. Too much of a gamble. Michael Bay is a safe pair of hands - give him a thousand dollars he will buy a stick of dynamite. Give him a million and he will simply buy more dynamite.

The response of Hollywood? To give him the reigns of Transformers 3.

In the modern investment-driven world there is a real aversion towards trying anything new and different. Michael Bay epitomizes that marvelously.
He does indeed. I do agree that the amount of 'deep' movies has been on the decrease, which is a shame, but at the same time I certainly do NOT want every director taking their shots at creating that kind of experience... if I were Michael Bay I probably would've dialed down the bad jokes, screentime for humans and amount of military hardware in Transformers 2, but there's nothing wrong with doing what you're best at, and in Bay's case that's explosions and SFX. Sometimes a safe bet is just that, and in my book that's not a bad thing.

Oh, a few more things.
While District 9 certainly wasn't bad, I cannot for the life of me understand why the majority of film buffs everywhere hail it as something akin to the second coming of Jesus.
And in my opinion David Lynch can suck it. Over-analyze it all you want, Lost Highway was an incoherent bowl of snot.

Crap Director? Michael Bay is a genius! As much as I think his movies make absolutely no sense, you have to admit: he knows how to sell this crap. He knows that most people who watch his movies don't care about plot; they just want to see explosions every two seconds, so why should he deliver anything different? Just look at how much money he's bringing in.

Y'know what?

When I see someone bad-mouthing the transformers movies I immediatly lose respect for them.(Unless of course they actually have a legitimate thought out reason to do so).
Complaining that the films are immature and pure childish explosion and action is stupid.
THEY ARE BASED ON TOYS THAT ARE FOR CHILDREN.
Obviously the films arn't directed at children with all the cursing and half naked women. But They are aimed at the children inside us who used to play with the toys...
So your saying that leg humping robots / dog humpings repeatedly on the big screen is directed towards my inner child? Sorry but there was nothing good about either transformer movie, I honestly would rather them never made a big hit with this franchise and let this craptastic movie deal die out with the first one, sadly thats asking a lot. Oh and I did play with the toys...and the Jazz I played with and the one on the big screen were far from the same autobot. I lose respect for people who defend shitty movies ^_^ (without legitimate brain damage of course)

I enjoyed them both, I really don't see the problem with him making a 3rd film, plus the guy (from what the OP quoted) does some charity work too. I look forward to Transformers 3

I would say to Michael Bays what I said about the last two "Bad Bays! You do not do that again!" -smacks across the head-

OT: I don't HATE Bays' films per se, just don't care for the abundance of explosions in them.

I don't really think Michael Bay really wants to do the Transformers movies. He clearly doesn't show interest in the franchise and has hinted that it's the studio forcing him into the position of making them because he made the execs so many unteen millions with the first two.

If Michael Bay would actually show some enthusiasm with the franchise, he might show it some respect and actually revere it, but because he's being forced into yet another movie about a franchise he clearly doesn't care about, it's only going to result in even worse movies and even more angered nerds and shattered childhoods.
Then Michael Bay is even more utterly pathetic than I thought possible. He should just grow some balls, have a heart and stop raping my childhood icons. Hollywood should just learn that a remake cannot be done well.

Hey, it's been a long time since I've posted. Just been a little busy.

Transformers 3 has been going very well. We are going to shoot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China. On the talent front, we just locked in Frances McDormand and John Malkovich. Both amazing actors I've always wanted to work with. We also just got Ken Jeong, he is the super funny actor stuck in the trunk from ?Hangover? and the Doctor from ?Knocked Up.?

We start shooting pre-shoots in about one month.

I also was at a Ferrari charity event this week raising money for a hospital being built by Ferrari in Haiti. I announced that night the newest Autobot to join Transformers: the Ferrari 458 Italia.

I also want to thank everyone on this site that donated to the Make -A-Wish charity. We raised $20,000 which I will personally be matching. This is a great charity where they make wishes come true for kids who are very ill. We have had many Kids from Make-A-Wish visit us on our Transformers sets and this time we will be posting video of their visits on Transformers 3.

Michael Bay
This is going beyond a joke. The man keeps making bad movies and people keep on giving him money to make these bad movies. But Transformers isn't a film franchise that would be easy to fuck up, and yet Bay did it twice. The second movie in particular was shocking idictment on his lack of skills.

I think he should be stopped.
Meh... if they would remove Megan Fox... it'd probably be better...

Old news is old. Also, SHUT UP! Those films weren't that bad. I quite liked them thank you!
Har hear, Never understood what everyone was complaining about. Hollywood hasn't made a great movie in year's and anybody who tells me that avatar is the exception is completely full of themselves. Compared to the rest of the trash out there transformers is perfectly adequate and up to par.

I liked Part one, they fucked up the story in Part 2 (all of a sudden Shiloh LeBitch has a code in his head! c'mon son) but the fight scenes was good.

I've never seen any of the Transformers films (haven't felt any desire) but I'm such they're not tooo bad. They're just like every other commercial Hollywood film with a lot of focus on special effects (correct me if I'm wrong).

John Malkovich is good though so... Still don't feel the need to see it though.

If you judge Transformers 1 and 2 not as movies but instead as a series of explosions, you'll enjoy them a lot more.
