I use money as bookmarks. Just low value notes that i get from vacations abroad. Though people do use books to hide money.

I try to remember where I left off.
Doesn't always work out that way.

Whatever the hell. If there is a sweet bookmark right downstairs, I'll probably go and get it, but If there isn't, I'll just use a slip of paper. Failing that, I'll dog-ear it (Unless I really care about it- like Speak, for example. That particular childhood memory I ALWAYS use a bookmark for, of some sort)

Well, the bookstore I buy my books from gives me a bookmark with every book I buy. But, when I don't have any, I dog-ear the page.

Anything that's papery and small. Mostly paper tissues, but also old greeting cards, the advertisement that comes in packages from amazon and so on...

I use a bookmark of some sort. Currently my bookmark is a 4000 Microsoft point card.

With textbooks I may dog-ear the pages, but I usually don't even care about marking my place in a textbook.

Usually by leaving a pen in it (I always underline...I'm an academic). Sometimes a bookmark. I cut semi-artistic bookmarks from nice fashion adds. Sometimes memory...it's easy to see where I'm at by going to the last underline. The only time I'd consider dog-earing would be on a magazine that I don't mind throwing away.

If it's my own book, I'll dog-ear it. I don't care about how the book looks, as long as it's still legible and I don't lose my place. If it belongs to someone else, I'll use a bookmark though. Everyone I know is really touchy about that shit :/

Some piece of paper as a bookmark. Toilet-paper, tissue, newspaper, whatever's in my reach.

dog ear...books are to be used and battered.
cant stand people who are overly protective of their shit
We probably wouldn't get along very well. I go into rage mode if someone makes a dog-ear on my book, breaks its back, etc. When I'm done reading a book you couldn't tell it has been read at all.
