So I'll end up stopping the mob from beating money out of a guy, by force-persuading them to give me their cash and jump off a high-rise (KotOR 2 example). Pretty sure that puts me neutral overall.
I'd just like to say as a side note, that was the most epic choice in any video game, of all time.

I love how Dungeons and Dragons was ultimately involved in this thread. Anyway, I'd be Neutral Good; I have next to no regard for personal benefit if others will gain from my sacrifice. I think I've spent no less than 20 sovereigns on beggars in Dragon Age:Origins so far.

I just play the game, and make decisions as I guess I would if it were real life, but that usual tends to be in a good way anyway, so good I suppose

I believe Yatzee called this one perfectly. The really evil People play as Good Guys, getting themselves a large following, fighting against anyone who could be a threat, and once you've got enough power to ensure nothig can get in your way *clap clap* Bam! Off World Slavery.

So yeah, I'm a Good Guy. Emphasis on "Good". ...muhahahahaha...

Good, only because, most of the time, I'm not motivated to be a dick, so being good or neutral is the default choice. I'm pretty much the same way IRL: I'll follow the rules, unless I know I can profit from breaking them. Like a video-game such opportunities don't present themselves often.

The sly villain, who no one can really be mad at... you know the kind of guy who steals your car and leaves you alone in the rain but was nice enough to give you back your purse... yay that guy. screw death and destruction! If everybody was dead who would you rob, mug, beat up, mutlate, experiment on, trick, trap, murder, rape, blow...up, persuade, or use? You would only blame yourself and wish you were that guy... the guy who could mug people who tried to mug him.

I prefer neutral, though I'll occasionally do good things.

Like that one time I killed the greatest Dark Wizard on my UO shard with nothing but a sword and shield, then cut off his head and took his spellbook. Hell, even when playing Overlord I mostly do good things.

On the other hand, in Gothic I knocked out everybody and stole their stuff (didn't kill them, though - I'm a nice guy).
I guess that's not exactly good.

So, I'd say I'm somewhere inbetween chaotic neutral and chaotic good.

good I am just good natured and only steal/kill if there is no other solution or it is part of a quest (although I am a member of both the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves guild I got an invitation after killing the arenas grand champion)

Definetely Neutral ... but leaning towards the Good side. An Anti-Hero or a Mercenary you could say.

Generally speaking in games where you are granted a "moral choice" system, I will pretty much do whatever I myself would do in the given situation. Most of the time I find that I'll pick the Good option of the two, but if the rewards are persuading enough, I might nip over to the Dark Side for a little while.

For example, while playing Fallour 3 recently, I became the savior of Megaton by defusing the big bomb ... and that very night I broke into someone's house and stole everthing of value.

In the original Fable, I chose to do both the Good AND Bad sidequests, because that way I would make the most money and progress my character faster by improving his skills and purchasing better equipment. But I also chose to let Whisper live at the end of the Arena, despite the MASSIVE freakin' payoff at the end.

I think the Game Black & White was a perfect example of how being Neutral is normally the best option. If you were too Evil, your people would eventually just become scared of you and it would become immpossible to accomplish anything. On the other hand, if you were too Good, the games difficulty curve would go Bananas around about the time you hit the Third island.

I'll be Good so long as you don't piss me off. Or I'll be Evil if the pay is good enough.

It really depends on what game. Most of the time I play as a Neutral-Good character and sometimes just a Good character.

Neutral because i feel it reflects my own character more. If someone crosses me i'll go after them. If it benefits me i'll do it. Will i do something for someone i don't know and for no self benefit out of sheer 'goodness'? Nope. There is always a selfish undertone to everything, i just embrace it :p
