A lot of you guys seem to romanticise about how easy it is to steal stuff!

I bet a group of 5 escapists couldnt steal 31 macbook pros and a bunch of Ipod touches in 2 minutes.

Wait, the store with $50k's worth of electronics in it had no armour plating grates?

The shop's owners deserve everything they got, what a bunch of retards for putting that security guard in harms way...

Those robbers are very co-ordinated, they get gold stars for not hurting anyone in the process. I cannot believe how dumb the shop's owners must be to not have installed lowering plating across the doors.

One could always go the tech route, make some device that makes the computers seem in-operable, which means they'll get shipped out to be destroyed/scrapped. All one has to do is then substitute your own truck for the official one, pick up the computers, fix them and sell them, and they'll never be marked as stolen.

Pfft, Amateurs..
I kid, I kid.

I find it funny as he says: "Watch as the thieves show skilled practice!"
They... threw something through a window? Woohoo, they must be masters of breaking and entering, for sure.

And OP: I'm sure people would have broken in, regardless of the footage that was shown. It's a nice store.
Let`s not be too harsh on the newbs ,i mean you have to start somewhere...../jk

they're good for graphics work aren't they?
Tho that's about it. Oh they have a "User-friendly interface" which basically means, big shiny animated icons doing silly things.
but i digress, this thread will turn into Mac V Pc if we're not careful

You didn't include the option of "Who would want to rob an Apple store?"

these guys kick ass
i agree. anyone skilled enough to get away with robbing a corporation like that should have their ill gotten gains as reward.

i have nothing but respect for these people; their execution and planning were flawless.

I wonder if anyone will notice the suspiciously large increase in their bank accounts, and the facts that they will quit their jobs.

Hmmmmmmmm...

"savvy enough to wear masks"?

Really? Wearing a mask when robbing a store is now considered "savvy" these days? Since when? What criminal would be stupid enough not to wear a mask?

And furthermore - the "art of brining down the plate glass door"? Is it just me or is the reporter trying just a BIT too hard? The way he's speaking, it's like he's breaking the most important news story of the year. I mean, come on, criminal pros? Yes they were organized criminals, they were fast, and no doubt they knew what they wanted to steal.

That's not "pro". Stealing money from a major bank successfully is "pro". Getting a few friends together, planning for a day or two and stealing quickly does not make anyone "pro". Competent, but it was hardly the world's greatest heist.

That news reporter is a little too excitable. Probably thought it was the story to launch his career from "local news guy" to "slightly higher-paid local news guy".

besides everyone knows real skilled thieves would have put the cameras on a loop, entered throught the ventilation shafts, used a tranq gun on the security guard, and then calmly walked out the store with all the gear.
simples.
I dunno you might stumble across the Ipod Metal Gear

haha, true, but there really isn't any need for precise planning in Car + Speed + Glass = easy entry.
why be subtle when you can put a car through it?
If you put a car through it you would have the awesome label of 30 seconds, cars take too long to move off, plus they would have to get our of the doors.
Have someone in the car with the motor running, have him drive just slightly out the door unhinge the boot slam it shut on the way out and floor it, sounds easy enough. Or have someone who can drive a manual those few second delays in starting up gone.

They got away with roughly $100k in merch between them, bit less for street value. Think they'll have to hit a few more stores first.

Also I'm thinking taking that glass down in one does take some kind of technique, sometimes you would be left with a messy break, no?
