Harris is a fairly common name. There were three people in my school who had it, that weren't even related to me.
So yeah... pretty common, especially if you do the Facebook thing...

My last name is quite unique. The only ones who have it are related to me.
In other words, as rare as it gets.
Oh, and I'm the only one with MY name in the world. Beat that!
Not giving my full name, since I'd be VERY easy to track down.

Finstad
almost no one pronounces it properly
its read the SAME WAY its spelled
not FINEstad, not finSTEAD
Finstad

and apparently only small pockets of familys have it all over the U.S.

about 1-2 groups in each state

im not sure how closely related we are, as we have (as far as i know) no formal family reunion

the farthest back in my family tree that i have met is my grandpa

Mine is Drover, an Australian/British old for "cowboy." I think there are only about 20 of us out there, and 2 of us were guitar players in Megadeth. Tee hee. :)

I think my surname is more common as a first name than a last name. Anyone know someone else with the last name Bruce?

O'Donnell. I live in Ireland so it's fairly common although my family is bloody huge so I wouldn't be surprised if a good few of them are relatives in some way. Still never met anyone in school with it. My mams name is a lot less common.

It's pretty uncommon, slightly more common in my home region (where my parents still live) but I'm quite sure everyone with my last name is a relative of some sort.

According to the 2007 census there are 318 people with my last name in the Netherlands (out of approximately 16 million people)

Mine is old old Nord for "Head", now English-ish. I imagine it is more popular there than here. The only ones I know is my own family, though there are others in Toronto.
