Crawford, pretty uncommon, but some people spell it Crofford, so that takes away a few of it.

On the topic of spelling, I have a friend whose surname is Cowen (most people spell it Cohen), which means his facebook turns up as the first google result. :D

Waddington. I've met 1 other person with my surname, outside of my dad's side of the family.

It's the name of a village near Lincoln, UK. My dad's family don't come from there though as far as I know, they're from Manchester and Ireland.

There are 5,400 of us on Facebook though...

Mine is Surgener. I've never met anyone with that last name but I'm heard of about 4 or 5 people from when I've googled it.

Right now I am Brown, but I was thinking of changing it to my mother's maternal maiden name, which is Montalbano.

Mine is sort of rare but there are considerably more common variations, usually with O' or Mc in front of it. Its believed that the O' was dropped from ours to make it sound less Irish.

Well I don't know how common or uncommon my name is so I just posted the middle option, it's Haymond, and my middle names Higgins.

Unique enough that no one knows how to pronounce it---the only person I met who actually pronounced my name correctly on the first try was a substitute teacher I had in high school. I had been expected to have to correct her so when she said it right I went, "No, it's--oh, wait--yeah, you got it. That's a first." Even my friends pronounce my name wrong, no matter how many times I tell them.

But, there are a thousand or so of us around the world, according to Facebook. I've never met another with my last name but, apparently, they do exist.

My last name is Gibson...You decide.

Hell search my full name, Ryan Gibson. Your not going to find me, ever. It's like the most common name I know.

Mine is McCullough, pretty unique. There are some that are quite close to it, such as, McCullagh.

Mine is of Scottish decent and means Son on the North.

My surname translates to something like "fallow deer hunter / herder", at least that's what my grandma says.
I was quite surprised: According to a german site on surnames, there are only about 246 phone book entries on that name, around 2/3 within a 100km radius of where i live. That's about 650 people with that name out of 81 million. Quite unique.

According to Wolfram Alpha, it's in 0.08 percent of Americans, but I know it's much more common over in Wales, where it comes from.

If going by my American recorded last name, "Price" is absurdly popular and uninteresting.

If we went by my other name, "Verdugo-Price," (yeah, half latin,) then I'm not unique so much as awesome, as it translates to "priceless assassin."
