Resistance 2 or Half life 2, I really can't decide. If we are adding on the episodes to Half life than I pick that.

I'm gonna go with STALKER , probably Call of Prypiat.Shadow of Chernobyl had a better story/atmosphere but CoP had better gameplay.

I like my shooters hard and scary, and STALKER is both of thoses hehe

Technically Counterstrike is a Half Life mod, so that's somewhat redundant.

Also, (again) technically, Gears doesn't belong in there either because it's from the third-person perspective. If you're going to include Gears you might as well include Dead Space and the last few entries in the Resident Evil series. (I really like those, btw).

I think I'd have to say my favorite FPSes are in the Halo series. Borderlands is pretty sweet, too.

Hey everybody.

Sorry my poll is too "mainstream" for most.

The poll is a mess, and I REALLY need to look into better choices.

Also, for everyone saying, "Gears of War is not a FPS", I am sorry about that, I am wrong, it is a Third Person Shooter, I am just not doing my research.

This has probably been mentioned but Gears is a Third Person Shooter, not an FPS. However I enjoy Battlefield the most. I'd probably prefer CoD if it would find me a game quicker. Worst matchmaking ever,

What is your Favorite FPS Series?

Favorite meaning in terms of gameplay, setting, story, characters etc.

I don't want any "HURR DURR, CALL OF DOUTY IS BETTUR THUN HALOZ AND GEARZ OF WOAR!!" crap.

So, tell me.

(BTW, I have played Call of Duty, Halo, TF2, Borderlands and a little bit of Gears.)

I prefer tf2, and not because of the story (you're a mercenary hired to shoot the other guys, what more is there to it?), but because it brings something new to the table in terms of gameplay. Although that new is almost 4 years old now...

I have to disagree with you having TF2 up there, because as any die hard fan will tell you, its not an FPS, but a war hat simulator, with some FPS elements. JK, but i Voted Battlefield, mostly because that's the games i started with.

Gears of War is a third person shooter. FPS stands for FIRST person shooter.

Gears = TPS

FPS =/= TPS

By the transitive property, Gears =/= FPS.

Sorry, this happens SO much on these forums. Like, at least a dozen times a day I'd bet. Hopefully this'll help someone catch that mistake.

OT: By the terms in the OP, Halo Reach dominates nearly all of them.

OT: meh fps's just are time wasters for me mostly, but i will say i have the most fun playing halo with friends, so halo wins it.
