Here's my team...2xDouble said:I'm assuming that Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, and Empoleon are out of the question... might I suggest Vaporeon. That little fella is a tank. You may also consider the versatility of Lapras and Staryu/Starmie for a little variety in attacking styles (namely access to Thunderbolt and STAB Ice Beam or Psychic). For a slightly different, I would suggest one of my personal favorite Water types, Horsea/Seadra/Kingdra, Chunchou/Lanturn or Carvahna/Sharpedo. Lanturn is a unique little Poke with the Electric typing, and an Electric immunity through Volt Absorb (handy if you have an Electric-weak Flying or other Water type), and Sharpedo for it's full-on attacking capability, Psychic immunity, and access to all of the elemental Fang attacks. Seadra is a straight-on special attacker with some fairly impressive defenses and the awesome Sniper ability. If you can evolve it to Kingdra, you gain the added Dragon typing and it's associated resistances, and versatility to go physical or mixed attacking. If you want a singular experience, you may also consider Lotad/Lombre/Ludicolo. Ludicolo has some wonderful defensive and recovery capabilities, and the added bonus of Grass typing letting it obliterate other Water types (alongside Lanturn).
Out of the choices you've provided, it depends on what you need. Consider that most Pokes who are weak to Water have relatively high physical defense and low special defense. If this doesn't concern you, a physical attacker may be your way to go, Krabby/Kingler or Wooper/Quagsire. If you'd prefer a special attacker, you're better off with Tentacool/Tentacruel. Also consider the other typing. Poison comes with some handy resistances, Fighting has some as well, but is much more effective as an attacker, and Ground grants an Electric immunity and a very powerful attack type.
All that to say this: figure out what you need, then find the Pokemon to fill the role. if you just need a "water type" literally any of the ones I've listed will fill the role. Heck, even Bibarel is capable, but I wouldn't take it into the Elite Four.
Based on your team, you'll likely need a special attacker, and probably one with access to Ice Beam. Out of your list I'd go with Tentacruel. It has strong defenses, capable offenses, Sludge Bomb to blast Grass types, and access to Ice Beam.Onyx Oblivion said:Here's my team...

Ampharos
Ninetales...Well, a Vulpix at the moment.
Noctowl
HM Slave

Actually, my Ampharos is SPECIAL ATTACKER. Base SP ATK is much higher.2xDouble said:Based on your team, you'll likely need a special attacker, and probably one with access to Ice Beam. Meganium= Defense/stalling (mostly)
Ampharos= Mixed (but mostly physical) attacker
Ninetails=Special attacker/Fire wall
Noctowl=wild card, but mostly disruption/special attacks
Tentacruel should fit your team nicely, I think. Unless you want to consider one of the others I mentioned, Starmie in particular. Just keep in mind that this is YOUR team. Pick one you like and make it work. lol!
Re-EDIT: if you wanna try something REALLY different, try a non-water SURFing Pokemon like Rhyhorn/Rhydon/Rhyperior, Aron/Lairon/Aggron, or (if you have access to it) Pikachu. they'll never see it coming.
I still think Tentacruel will fit fairly well, but you'll likely want some physical muscle too. In that case maybe Poliwrath (for it's Fighting moves and Hypnosis). Kingler is stronger, but slow. Of course one of my favorites is Lanturn, so I'd take it and switch Ampharos for an Earthquaker like Dugtrio or Flygon. That's just my opinion.Onyx Oblivion said:Actually, my Ampharos is SPECIAL ATTACKER. Base SP ATK is much higher.

Does that change your choice?
I think it did, but it was very well hidden. You know the area where you can find Smeargle.. in, I think, Gold? There should be the cave of unknown nearby, and it has a basement with Lapras.. something like that.WrongSprite said:Did gold have silver have Lapras? I love Lapras...

Absopositively. On the poll I'd say Poliwrath since they are awesome. However try to get Suicune since its awesome. However it is very hard to catch.Ulquiorra4sama said:Neither of those. Blastoise is the best choice.
