Probably Poliwag etc. Out of curiosity, how do you evolve it into a 'wrath? I forget. Is it just through training? I don't want to bother training one only to find I can't evolve it without doing some trading.

I freakin' hate trade evolutions, I don't know a single other person who plays.
you can trade online, just ask a nice person on this very forum, i'm sure someone will oblige.

Actually, if you have access to one, Palkia's a good water choice for actually fighting the elite four. it means you'd need an hm slave to get there however

I'd go slowpoke, its got cruse, which cuts down your speed but greatly increases attack and defense, and sense he has no to begin with it is like you arn't sacrificing any thing, you got to get one in the slowpoke cave or else they wont learn it though. Short of that go Wooper sense he has the ground type and there for immune to electricity.

No, get a Cloyster. That's always been one of my favorites, but I only got to use it in Pokemon Stadium. Just got my first one in a main game today!

Tentacruel has good speed, good Sp. Attk, and great Sp. Def, so he would be my choice in a landslide. The others you list are actually quite bad, though Quagsire has a fantastic dual-type and can learn good HM moves. His stats are fairly bad though.

The best choices for a Water type would be Gyrados (Physical Sweeper), Starmie (Special Sweeper), Swampert (Physical Tank), or Suicune (Special Tank). Each of those has a pretty good niche and works well.

I had the same problem.
I'm going with a Poliwrath. He looks cool, has hypnosis (I just like having it, sue me), and everytime I see it the noise poliwag makes in Pokemon snap runs through my head and I giggle.

Good luck with your choice =)

Go with Krabby-Kingler!

If you say you've got plenty of special types already then Krabby/Kingler's massive attack/defense should work for ya. That's what I went with and he's worked pretty well. He'll dominate once he finally learns Crabhammer.

P.S. I named mine Spycrab.

Personally I would choose Quagsire being that its a ground water type, so electric attacks dont effect it, but Kingler is also good since it can know guillotine (one hit KO move) and knows some ground attacks to fend off electric types. Tentacruel is good too, since it is not highly effected by grass types but instead by ground, electric and psycic types, however since there are soo many pokemon greatly against it, it would not be the best choice, the worst choice would be pollywhrath, being that four types are good against it,electric grass, flying and phsycic.

Quagsire

+ only pokemon good against it is grass types
+ good against electric types
+ HP is high
-grass do times 4 dammage to it
-speed is low

Kingler
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/099.shtml

+can be good on electric type if it doesn't get hit too much (knows ground moves but still electric and grass are 2x good against it)
+ can learn a one hit KO move
+ Good attack and defence
- Bad special attack and defence
- 2 types are 2x effective against it

Tentecruel
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/073.shtml

+high HP, Special defense, and speed
+is part poison so good against what poison is good against.
- 3 types are 2x effective against it

Poliwrath
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/062.shtml
+ is part fighting, so good against grass etc..
+ good HP and good Defence
- 4 types are 2x effective against it

I would say go for Cloyster, because I've got him in my squad at lv55 and he's a beast, very hard to KO.

But based on your Poll I'd got for Kingler, because he's a giant crab, and who doesn't want that?
