Opinions are like butts, everyone has them, and they all stink.

Including yours AND mine.

I liked it, you didn't. I'm not going to convince you otherwise, and you're not going to convince me that it sucked.

So what you've done, bascially, is paraphrase the majority of the reviews including The Escapist's own Zero Punctuation and the general word of mouth, as well as everything Ubisoft themselves said they did wrong and wanted to fix for the second game... and then asked if you're the only person who thought it?

Though, I suppose... if I am to be fair, not many of the people who pointed out the glaringly obvious problems you've selected to highlight also decided it sucked, mostly that it was average, ya know... C+ for effort, try harder next time Ubisoft type mark; not a full on F.

It was a flawed game, sure, but I liked it a lot. It was different, and I sunk a lot of time into just messing around. The sequel improved a lot, but also fell on its face in ways (like the plot, which is worse than the first IMO.)
I don't really see why it gets so much hate, to be honest. Flawed, yes. Terrible? No.

Why ignore the story? Ubisoft have done a fair bit of research and put alot of effort into a birlliant storyline that really hits home.
x kills y. Z vows to slaughter until vendetta is paid off.
Yeah, you've completely left all the ending parts out about the pieces of Eden scattered around the world and what Abstergo plans to do with them (not to mention the great miracles of the bible merely being illusions), but whatever gives you the false sense that you've come up with an intelligent and credible rebuttal. Congratulations on missing out 60% of the true underlying plot of the game.
Though maybe I'm being harsh and you simple just didn't manage to collect the two unlock code pens throughout the game, don't really care. You're just being ignorant.
thank you, seriously, it was hard. i didnt think i could do it. but, i did. ive really done something great today aye?

In any case, i couldn't give a crap about this "Desmond" guy. 90% im playing as Ezio, so why should i even care about Desmond's story?
Because it's the framing device. Notice, Altair is gone after the first game, Ezio is (presumably) only in the second, but who will be in the whole series?

...You could've written an exact layout of the story for that game? Really? Really?

So, theres this group of assassins, and in modern day times, the templars capture an ancestor of the assassins and strap him up in a machine to learn about some ancient artifact that grants immense power to those that have it(or something like that, I forget exactly). Assassins try to break you out, and you eventually obtain the "eagle eye" ability because you are becoming more in tune with your ancestral self.

You really could have written that out without having ever played the game?
i didn't say with out ever playing the game but after playing it for about a quarter of the way through

The game was repetitive, but enjoyable regardless as far as I was concerned. Different strokes for different folks anyway.

And your about, what, 2 years late?
i could not have written it never having played it but i could have written about roughly half way through
So you could have written the entire story minus every plot twist? Impressive.

Anyway, I really liked it, but I recognize that there were serious problems, they just didn't really bother me. And at this point, people who liked it are rarer than the people who didn't, just so you know.

A lot of people didn't like AC1 for the very reasons you mentioned.

I liked it a lot, and I can't wait to get AC2.

I liked it; although I played it more for the free-roaming, Knife-throwing fun, Not for the story missions.

The end was fantastic though.

And Altair was a better assassin than Ezio - if you don't agree then I'm disappointed in you.

I noticed.

OT:don't call people insane just because they don't agree with you, sanity is decided by the majority, and given as you see yourself in the minority, you, by that logic are the insane one.

Also doesnt matter. you forget who the common dipshit is. When the Chunk of the series comes in and word gets out that "THIS IS THE GAME WITH THE ACTION AND PLOT!" and itll be proclaimed lord of all consoles, those that havent played prior games wont get it and complain. Those have played prior games will either get AssCreed X and praise it like the Space Marines to the Emperor, or they wont bother with AssCreed X and just assume the ending of the story.

Either way, the stories boned. They wont understand it Or they wont be looked at seriously- itll be forgiven for all its flaws without concern OR itll be made up.

So let me see if I understand your logic. Because people who join the series late won't understand the story, that makes the story bad?

Loved the first game, Loved the second.
I can see exactly why people thought the first was repetitititititititive, but I got over that by giving myself challenges (like only ever using the Hidden Blade when possible) or acting like a random badass motherfucking assassin.

Also, I am disappointed by the fact that in 2, the hidden blades can be used like swords.
No, NO! BAD Ubisoft, BAD!

I loved it, nevermind the repetitiveness. But seriously, Assassins Creed 2 is WAY FUCKING BETTER.
Oh, and ever hear of a thing called opinions? I hear a lot of people have them, you have one too yours is that you didn't like AC1 but others like me did like it.

Yes. It, along with every Ubisoft release in the last 2 years barring AC2, was a critically over-rated piece of shit.

I quite enjoyed Assassins Creed 1, I found it quite enjoyable, the side missions weren't terrible though they weren't brilliant and the actual assassinations where awesome. The sequel seems to have only improved every aspect of the game.

Its also one of the more unique games I've seen in a while especially in regards to the story which I found intriguing as it wasn't just your run of the mill ADHD generation "bad guys are evil because there Nazis/aliens/killed your dog, shoot them until dead".

no. makes the people bad - but the story irrelevant.
