If men weren't supposed to cry, they wouldn't have tear ducts.

I don't cry myself, but not out of chice or some 'man code'.

It's always okay to let your emotions out, in fact it's far more healthy to do so than try to contain everything.

I, who am a guy, has gone through some really tough times, and it has always felt better when I cried....

Yes. Although i really dont cry over emotions any more there are rarely any strong enough in my every day life to make me cry. I mostly cry as a result of extreme pain.

Mourning in private over a serious matter is acceptable. However, I hold myself to a personal standard that I won't cry in front of people. Ever. It really is about not showing weakness, but I rarely ever hold other people to the standards I hold myself to.

I've lost the ability to cry years ago; death and pain don't work anymore. This has changed my view to, "Never cry in public" and don't do it privately unless it qualifies under Man Law;

1) Hit in the genitals with anything traveling over 10mph.
2) Your date is using her teeth.
3) Anna Kournikova gets married.

*note for #1* Man Law also saws anyone nursing a hit is to be hit again so... be careful

I don't cry, I bottle it up and punch a wall when I'm frustrated. Hurt my hand. Done.
That's a variation on SI, aka Self Injury. Which would be in the camp of "cutters". Been there, tried that, great short term fix, long term, you really need to sort out your issues in a better way. Coz that's in no way healthy *concerned face*
Yep, I fully realise that, i've been doing it for about 2 years now. I'm not sure what brought it about, but like you say it works in the short term, but I dot serious issues. Bah, I blame my mother (she walked around naked, really open about sex, made me leave my dad when I wanted to stay). ARGH! however she suffers from bouts of depression, I'm not sure if it can be passed down through family, but I'm suffering from anxiety and insomnia currently....but hey, HAPPY FAMILIES! :)

I always cry, don't think anything is wrong with it, but sometimes if I, for example, get embarrassed I start crying even though I have no reason to, I am even thinking in my head "Why the fuck am I crying." I hate my instincts.

It depends. I never cry in public, only when alone. Except when we're talking joy tears. Joy tears are also OK in public.

I constantly cry like a sissy when i cut onions, those things get me every time. Also yawning makes my eyes water abit aswell which is REALLY annoying since about 2 yawns close to eachother is enough to make me have to either wipe my eyes or try really hard not to let it leak.

On to actual crying though, I think crying from physical pain is considered a big sign of weakness since its a very childish thing to do, as it is nearly always an attention grabbing thing and will stop doing it once they've been distracted.

Emotional tears i dont really view as a weakness, however sometimes it is very important to know when you need to man up and be strong and when you need to let it out, especially when people close to you die.

I don't think it makes you weak. I haven't cried in a good while, because I haven't been very depressed. The only time I get tears is either when I wake up or when walking while the wind blows in my face.

I never cry for somebody dead. To paraphrase Montaigne, "would that resurrect them?" But to cry out of loneliness is never shameful.

It's perfectly natural to cry, granted, I wouldn't cry in a large public place, i.e. school, because no matter how much prodding and explaining I do, I'll never live it down, but in private, crying is perfectly fine.

Crying is never bad unless you're faking it.

I have no problem at all with it, it's just when people cry just to be the center of attention.

If you are allowed to express happiness through smiles and laughter then in equal measure you are allowed to express sorrow, loneliness and gried through crying.

Well this didn't happen to me, it was...a friend. I...He was doing kickboxing trining and he got dropped on his ass and bruised his tailbone. After class and after he went home, A few tears made it feel all better. Mind you this was my friend...not me...a friend.
Errrrrrrr.... You act like if was you. But I will believe you anyways, I'm not here to spy suspicious people.

OT: Well, I cannot really remember when I last cried. One was 6 years ago in school when some idiot stole my Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. Apart from that I cannot really remember.
Also, in first year of High School they said I cried thanks for that my geography teacher (who is an idiot of a teacher, also she's discriminatory and sexists, and he had her niece in my classroom, who is a racist and apparent homosexual O-O), but I didn't, I was just kinda frustrated. I cannot believe how many people cannot really interpret someone's feelings.

Apart from that I cannot really remember, most of my own sorrow I have got it inside, along with most of my anger. I mostly haven't expressed publicly.
