I'm a pasifist, but plan on going into the military as a non-combation. Be a medic or someone who deals with public reltitons with the natives. If i'm going to war I want to say I helped people not hurt people.
Join the German army. They've been in Afghanistan since 2002 but are practically forbidden from leaving their base and have you any idea what kind of tonnage of wine, beer and pastries they get through? In a god damn Muslim country!

Last thing I heard was the typical deployed German soldier was clinically obese compared to the average German civilian who was a healthy weight. So I should fit right in :D

US and UK forces don't have it so easy, no booze (nada, nothing) and I've heard so many horror stories about PT exercises in the Army and Marines... no way, jose. It's the Bundeswehr for me and all the Beer and bacon pastries I can scarf down!
It's not about being lazy and having western comforts. There are people there who need medical attention, sewage removal, food, and other utilities. I want to help the civilans caught in the middle of a war and to show that the U.S is there to help, and get oil of course but with reasonable trade that benfits both parties. Those people have to worry about bullets flying form everside, terrorist, paranoid soliders who are afraid of anyone differant because they could try to kill you. Its bad over there and if I must go to war I want to know I was helping not killing.

Well since Vietnam was one of the most pointless and terrable wars there have been within the last centry, I'd go to Canada.

I've always wanted to move their anyways, now i have a bit more incentive to do so.

Good thing I already live in Canada. But just in case, I'd move up even more north.
To Ellesmere Island!
I heard you can club baby seals there and not go to jail!
Tally ho!

I would absolutely never ever fight in any war at all. Ever. I don't care if it's the noble upstanding paragons defending their country from oprhan-eating kitten-tortuing amoral monsters from the darkest part of our world, I'm not fighting.

Besides, I already live in Canada, not that much of a hard move.

Say it is Vietnam era, you get drafted
Yet one of the poll options is "Already in the army"... wouldn't that be past tense as in "already joined up back in 1965-1972"

Being in the Army in 2010 is pretty irrelevant to a conflict in the 1960's. You're poll is confusing, do you mean if there was conscription today?

And homosexuality won't do any good now, Obama's made sure of that, the Pentagon has said it loud and clear: "you don't have to be straight in the military, just be able to shoot straight"

However, watching Dharma and Greg remains a court martial offence so at least the military isn't that bad :)
oh shit, the continuity...FUUUUU

Ummmmmmm, I believe all is one. there is no future, past, or present

soooo yeah, what now?

Wonder why the fuck the humans want an alien in their army.
Ok, wait alien as in other planets or alien as in from another country?
I doubt he would've written "humans" if he was talking about other countries.

Go to Greece.

Even if they ask the authorities, they'll be to lazy to catch me. Sometime you just have to love us Greeks.

Well from what I understand, is if you were drafted in Vietnam (either American or Australian) you usually ended up as infantry because that was the quickest thing they could train you in (usually two years?).

However if you signed up and was trained for example in communications or something, you would be off the front lines, significantly decreasing your chance of death, for only an extra year.

I'd probably look into deferring my conscription till my university is finished, as I'd be more useful to them after I graduated and then sign up.

Already in the Army. Shooting yourself in the foot isn't going to get you out of going (see newest episode of House) Army will take you without a toe or two. Or even without an eye on occasion, if you're already in and lost one. >.>
