TimeSplitters, easily.
Future Perfect was just too damn good, and the other games where, while lacking in story, alot of fun and still get brought out to be played every so often.

For me it's Battlefield. The best being Battlefield 2142 out of the ones I have played. It is so good.

Battlefield? - Good series overall. Medal of honor? - Allied Assault was probably the best in the genre at the time.

Not that fond of shooters usually, at least not the ones in your poll, so voted "other" as these two would be my choices.

never played Time Splitters, nor Half-Life (Blasphemy I know) though I hear it,s good. Since Halo is the only one that I played with a semi-compelling story, it gets my vote

i never really played timesplitters, looked fun and decently polished though

quake/half life/unreal/doom all put me to sleep for the most part, i never cared for playing those outside of school because my friend hammered me about not caring for them

so for ones that i have had some fun with, i'll go with halo and call of duty in doses.. that is if we are sticking purely to fps's, otherwise idk what id pick.

Shocking! Valve's official blind fanboy forum loves Half-Life! I'd never have guessed.

... anyways.

I think I'd say Call of Duty, if only because Call of Duty 4 is so god damn good. Seriously, it cannot be overstated how fucking amazing CoD4 is. I don't even care that MW2, World at War, Call of Duty 3, and Black Ops are all steaming piles of shit. CoD4 more than makes up for the shortcomings of the remainder of the series.

Call of Duty, I love the single player to bits, it's so pleasant not having to run around a all by yourself. What's more, your little soldier buddies talk to you! Plus being able to throw back grenades is a nice touch.

Starseige Tribes - Every other FPS for me is boring, dull - and I always end up in the top of every server with out even trying.

Once you play a FPS in full 3d - being stuck on a 2d landscape is boring.

I voted quake because it absorbed a hell of a lot of my youth, but also for the way it revolutionized the way games where made (game engines)

The whole reason the FPS genre exists is because of Doom. Wolfenstein 3D was the first, but Doom is where the real fun began. FPS games these days should look at their roots and realize they became popular because of the mass murder monster spamming, not for pseudo-realism.

Thinking about it, my favourite FPS games were HL1 or 2 mods. So does that count as HL2 or other? Zombie Panic, Zombie Master, The Specialists, Gmod and Eternal Silence to name a few.

For me it's going to have to be the HL's and the Bioshocks however they are only there because they fall into the FPS genre. For me they are the best story telling games and therefore are my favourite, not because they are FPS's.

This one's really tough, because none are really consistently brilliant for me. The first Timesplitters didn't bother with a singleplayer, though the other two are fantastic, Goldeneye and Perfect dark are both stellar but in different series (and PDZ sucked), Unreal Tournament '99 and 2004 rocked the house but 2003 and 3 were a bit dissappointing, Battlefield 1942 was absolutely amazing but let down by every single battlefield game since, Operation Flashpoint 1 was wicked, but Dragon Rising not so much, Call of Duty has had it's ups and downs,

Out of all them, both Timesplitters and Unreal Tournament have two really good games with really good bots. I'm tempted to vote Timesplitters because UT has struck out more, but Timesplitters' bots are just a bit behind UT's ones.

I just can't choose- it's either Timesplitters or Unreal Tournament. Dammit it's too hard to choose!

Honestly though, TimeSplitters. It has the best split-screen ever.
