Yes.
Everything is worth watching in order to make an informed decision whether or not you like it.
If you like it or not is another matter.
This.

I have not finished the first season yet, but I think it's a good show. Not excellent or a must-watch, but it's good, especially when you consider that it's about magical ponies and aimed at little girls. You know, the demographic that supposedly (at least according to the products marketed to them) hates everything even remotely interesting.
But the show is also very predictable because there is always an Aesop that must be had. I still prefer the Powerpuff Girls.

Also, for those that like how relaxing, warm and fuzzy the show is: Try Hidamari Sketch or K-ON! (or many other slice-of-life comedies for that matter).

I tried watching it, found I disliked it. But I'm not saying you shouldn't give it a try, your mileage may vary

Long answer yes unless you hate kittens, puppies, porn, and everything great about life!
...porn?

Also, still not touching it. Nothing gets this popular this fast. It must be full of blipverts.

I say yes. There are a lot of ponies who are going to tell you yes as well.
There are going to be normal people who tell you no.
Ask yourself, would you rather listen to ponies or people?

And you received answers, which is generally what happens when one asks. In this case many of the answers were rather terse, because this question has been asked many times. This thread is the interrogative equivalent of "The cake is a lie!" jokes. It was great once, but now everyone's just sick of it.

That was a great analogy. I wish I could come up with that sort of thing when I'm not tired.
no no i knew that i posted wrong, that line was meant to be a reply to my thread being added to the FIM usergroup here on the escapist within the first 9 minutes of it being posted

I guess another way of putting that is, if you want to invest however many hours of your life watching something just for it to go out of style a couple of months from now, then I guess that's your call. But sooner or later it's going to be like 80's fashion, something that seemed like a good idea at the time, even though it clearly wasn't.
Right, because a show is only worth watching if everyone else likes it. That makes perfect sense.

I'm saying that the only reason anyone is watching it right now is because it's popular. Humans are surprisingly good at convincing themselves that something is worth watching just because they've been told by others that it's okay to watch. A couple months down the road it'll go out of style, and a year or two after that people are going to look back on it the same way my dad looks back on the afro he had when he was in college. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but was pretty clearly ridiculous. Just like a show for kids about magical ponies.

Is that for sure? No, it's just my opinion. But I've seen enough fads like this come in and out of style, and participated in a few myself over the years, that I feel pretty confident in saying it.

The shows pretty good. The "bronies" on the other hand...
I don't get why people say this sort of thing, I watch the show (as I'm sure you can tell from my avatar), but I don't really interact with the community. I don't however, have anything against them. What exactly is it you dislike about "bronies"?

In my experience the bronies (on this site at least) have been perfectly reasonable and done almost no wrong. They talk about My Little Pony pretty much only on specific pony threads or when it is relevent, are tolerant to different opinions (amazing, considering this is the internet), and even stopped making tons of new pony threads when they began to get on everyone's nerves. What exactly is the issue?

OT: I voted yes, and although I do like the show I would have voted yes even if I didn't. Something that has become incredibly popular like this is worth a try just to see what the fuss is about, there's no harm done if you don't like it.

I think the fans are one of the best parts of this show.

So what you're saying is every time my brother or I laughed, or found something adorable, it was only because it was popular? This certainly puts a damper on my day, yessiree! I really hope you're trying to troll because this is insane.

I'll admit having people to discuss with makes it more enjoyable, but it's laughable to suggest the only enjoyment from this show is derived from the fact that it is popular.

Oh, in that case it's a good thing that I specifically replied to it.

All I meant was that I posted a link in chat, not an actual news post or anything. You know, because members of the FiM usergroup would probably be interested in a thread about the show? We do that for every pony thread.

Except that this is popular against societal expectations. I'm an 18 year old male college student, for god's sake. Everything I've ever learned tells me I should hate this show. The first time I heard the theme song I just about died of shame and almost stopped watching right there. (Now I have to resist the temptation to sing along.) And what reaction do you suppose I'd get talking about it in public? I just don't think it can compare to something like hairstyles.

I watched it for about 5 minutes and couldn't get into it. While I could certainly see the charm, I'll stick with Adventure Time. Best. Animated. Show. EVER!
5 minutes? C'mon, dude, you know that's not very much. Was it the theme song? 'Cause you can just mute it if it bothers you that much.

Yes, for two reasons:
1. I believe you should give anything a chance at least once, if not just to have your own opinion on something.
2. Because I like the show.

Episode one was not that great.

Wait until episode 3, 4 and beyond to decide, when the series takes something of a turn away from established plot to sitcom-vil, where it stays, only keeping slight continuity between episodes.

Great show, very entertaining.

Or watch an episode

+ the first two eps are better than all the others.
