Despite whether or not it is acceptable or not doesn't really make any difference

The only difference that is noted is that some peoples attempts to 'fight the machine' is just weak and pathetic. "ohh they are bad! it's alright to take from bad people!" that makes you bad in return and while it may be a rebellion thing, for the most part whatever is taken has no impact on the company at all, they already factor in 'wankers stealing stuff' into their budget and still make a profit. Even if it was done to the extent that it made a difference, the things they are doing wrong will only get worse to make up for it.
And then theres also "It's not like they will miss it, it won't hurt them". Seriously, if they were going to give stuff away like that they simply would.

If you wanted to make a statement against the people through theft... don't do it to the company, because alot of the people working there have nothing to do with the dodgy practices.
Steal from the people who are in charge and caused the bad things to happen. That way it hits them personally and they are forced to experience it themselves, instead of just 'meh one of my stores were robbed."

No. It's still stealing.

If he wanted to make a point, he should just piss on the head-honcho's shoes. There are 5 year olds in this country that steal, so "your friend" isn't really THAT much of a rebel.

Hope you don't get caught red-handed though dude. Good luck

Well I wouldn't say that stealing is always wrong. If you're stealing from someone who stole it in the first place, or from Nazis, then it's justified. But as evil as Walmart is, it's still a legitimate business, so I wouldn't suggest stealing from it.

Its not right or wrong, its just an event.

In the words or Jimbo and Kerne(sp?)
"Shoplifting is a victimless crime"
"Like punching someone in the dark"

I understand what wal-mart has done. But it seems like your friend is calling himself anarchist when he steals to justify his actions. When your stealing computer games to play on your own time, your not really doing anything. Think about it Wal-mart is a huge industrial company with billions of dollars, and your stealing maybe sixty bucks from them every time you go to wal-mart at the risk of getting caught and getting arrested. Sorry but your friend sounds like an ass. If he was a true anarchist he would do something that would benefit the people, not just him.

We don't Have walmart Down here in New zealand.

We have a place called 'The Warehouse' (They call it that because It is a fuck-huge warehouse full of shit you can buy) It is like walmart, but without the evil. It's also painted red, So it will go faster.

You steal from that store and Overlord John Key will come to your house and fuck up your Shit. Serious Business
It's true, I've seen it happen.
Scary stuff.

As fer all you free livin', non-John Key fearin' Americans (and people from wherever else this mart of walls has spread to).
Stealing is not culturally acceptable.
Whether it's from Walmart or not makes absolutely no difference.
High-five.

...Anarchy is not chaos! It is a lack of central government, not mad max. I support the Idea of people running a society without a central power, but I don't support stealing from anyone, Evil or not. I hate western society to the core, and I truly mean it when I say it can fuck itself, but when in Rome, do as the Romans do, or said Romans will kick your non-Roman ass...

I work at Wal-Mart. Here goes nothing.

First off, stealing is wrong. Period. With the few extreme exceptions, stealing is wrong.
Second, just because it's Wal-Mart doesn't mean it's okay to steal (see #1). Even if Wal-Mart is a huge corporate tyrant (which it's not), even if it's a merciless slave driver (which it's not), and even if it's products are questionable (which is fair, but consider most products nowadays are foreign-made) it is NEVER okay to steal.

Third, do you know how much money we lose every year to shoplifters? The electronics department at my store lost $50,000 last year alone! Which means the store probably lost over $100,000! Considering alot of money is used to run the store, pay the employees, donated to charity (I'm not kidding!), these dickweeds are depriving people their cheques and donations. Assholes.

Also, of the three or four days a week I work, on at least two of them I will see some idiots (usually idiot teenagers) in the Loss Prevention Office (that's Security for you idiot types), as the cops are called in to arrest them. Yes, Wal-Mart will call the police and have you arrested for shoplifting in the store. The things people do for a criminal record, oi.

"It's not the commanders who are lined up against a wall and shot."

Not exactly the best analogy, but you get my point. some people who work at wal-mart can barely afford anything at wal-mart. they're getting little enough as it is, why take more away from them?

Except for the dick in electronics who short-changed me. steal from him all you want.

ok, heres the low down. I work for walmart. when working for a corporation like that you tend to receive inside information. This is the information I have received as of late.

For every item/dollar that is stolen from walmart the price of some comparable item goes up. Also, for every item that the store loses the employees have to either not get a raise or take a pay cut. If enough of a dollar amount is stolen from a specific persons shift (whether its their fault for paying attention or not)that person could very well end up losing their job.

I will not condone stealing for hardly any reason. The one exception (even though this is still frowned upon) is stealing to feed your self or your family.

No stealing for whatever reason is a bad idea. I stole enough from a store to close it down once and the people there lost their jobs. Worst feeling ever knowing that they are out of work because of my own greed.

Most political philosophers are pretty much agree'd that you can't have anarchy.

Not because its wrong but just the regular activities of humans would lead to some sort of state (even if you didn't call it one :)).

Unless we want to create fantasy environments where bad people don't exist then 'maybe', but realistically it wouldn't be self sustaining.

Precisely. It's stealing, and the justification you are using is one of the worst ones there is (and i have reason to believe there are no good ones).

Really if you're stealing from a Walmart you're only hurting that one specific Walmart and its employees. And if somehow everyone were to steal from all the Walmarts and cause them to go out of business, what does that really accomplish aside from leaving a shitload of innocent people jobless?

I know quite a few people who either have or still do work at the local Walmart here, and most of them do hate their job but even they aren't dumb enough to think they'd be better off unemployed.

Besides, stealing is bad..mmk?
