In mw2 they might as well put red dot sights on snipers because almost nobody camps with them.

As long as you move around the map, yeah it is possible, staying in one position all the way through the game is just boring

Being a sniper or recon is alot more stealthier than the other classes, so you want suspense, not just sitting in a corner shooting everyone that goes past

I think it is, because in real sniping, you fire one shot and move, as opposed to firing several shots and staying where you are.
i would think in real sniping you would get into a position that is hard for them to spot you so you can fire several shots with out having to move.

also what is so bad about camping? are you talking about like in COD? i have no issue with camping. it seems like a strat that has its own advantages and disadvantages. like high KDR and the chance of low kills depending where you camp.

if you want to win the game you normally need your team to have a positive kdr so campers are helping this.

Take the shot, maybe two. Move on. Camping snipers are an endangered breed because a number of people (myself included) enjoy flushing them out. In TF2 for example, I see a target, shoot. If the target is down, move. If the target isn't down, move slightly.

The most common problem with snipers is tunnel vision. Stop looking through the scope and look at your surroundings. This has saved my hide many times.

Play Resistance 2 with me and watch me rush snipe. I honestly rush there base and headshot dudes from medium-close range.

*I don't have an aimbot if thats what you're thinking.

Take a shot or two, then move on. Camping is planting in one spot and unloading until you die
So it is possible.

It's completely possible. You can shoot, move, shoot, move, etc. Or as I've done a few times in halo 3, shoot AND move at the same time. And still do fairly well.

Yes, become the squad marksman. It's still technically sniping, except your team-mates are your cover. ^^

Very slightly off-topic, but why does everyone hate quick-scoping? I've asked this several times in other threads and have yet to hear a valid response. Because someone has better reflexes than you and can aim faster, that makes them "noobs" or "fags"? Get over yourselves. Quick-scoping takes a HELL of a lot more skill than sitting in a corner staring down your sights.

depends on the area, if your in a fortress you would stay in the same place rather then moving after every kill, if your in a forest you would move after every shot so they have trouble finding you.

real life of course, if your in the game you would camp and change positions when someone kills you or a new round starts.

Snipers don't play too much unlike normal infantry should. Good ones at least. Find choke points, and guard them. Try to blend in with the terrain or the rest of your team.

Actually, it's a vital strategy if you want to be a good sniper. Move after every shot to avoid getting counter sniped easily.

Campers are so easily neutralised. Especially the smoke grenade is a very underrated tool against them.
