call me a little defensive over this but NO not at alltelocaster said:I just broke up with my girlfriend a week ago and i was wondering if it weird to go see a movie by yourself? I was gonna take her to fright night but things did not work out?
unless the movie is hilariously badLlil said:Of course not. It's been a really long time since I last went to the cinema with someone. I go to see a movie, not to socialise. Besides, talking in the theatre is really annoying and kind of rude, so having a friend with you doesn't add much to the experience anyway.
I thought about saying that, but I don't go see bad movies. I wait for the DVD.Vault101 said:unless the movie is hilariously badLlil said:Of course not. my brother "sort of" got invited to a showing of "The Room"..Im a bit jealous
Hmmm...this is the breaker...a bad movie has to be experienced by a crowd. A good movie can be watched on your own.Llil said:I thought about saying that, but I don't go see bad movies. I don't really like watching movies that have to be seen with friends. There's a lot of bad movies that I genuinely like, but I don't usually watch bad bad-movies. Even when watching them with other people, I can't see the appeal. I need my movies to be watchable alone, whether they're good or not.The_root_of_all_evil said:Hmmm...this is the breaker...a bad movie has to be experienced by a crowd. Rocky Horror Picture Show needs a crowd. Any film that has you screaming at the screen really needs people to scream along with you. The Room has to be experienced with friends. I won't say enjoyed, but what a show.Llil said:I don't really like watching movies that have to be seen with friends. I know, but I don't watch that kind of movies, I don't like screaming at the screen. I'm a quiet guy, I don't even laugh out loud no matter how funny a movie is, I just smile. Of course, it can be more enjoyable to see a movie with people, but I don't want it to be a requirement to having any fun.The_root_of_all_evil said:Rocky Horror Picture Show needs a crowd. Gah! you watch DVDs at home, freak... Just kidding.brunothepig said:Nope, although I can't imagine doing that. I prefer watching movies with friends, but going to the cinema alone is no different to lying on your couch with a dvd at home.
My advice: Heed or Ignore. Grab some friends, have a few drinks (merry...not further) then go and see a "shouty" film. You'll be acutely embarrassed afterwards but have the time of your life. Just make sure it's one of those that people know the rules.Llil said:I don't really like watching movies that have to be seen with friends.
