this might be because the mentalities between the two different types of gamers might be different. i.e easier to please.OriginalJoeBlack said:As i see, many of you just dont get my point. I am talking here the whole time about the quality of the game, and not if the games do sell. Sure, that when they just port the game to the PC, that at last one person will buy it. But does that mean it will be good, or that they did focus while developing on the computer, OR that they will then focus on computers? No.
No, because people go after numbers, when a title is hot, reviewers do praise it, everyone will buy it. For example: Modern Warfare 2
Everyone including reviewers did say it is nice, so it did sell a shitload of copies. But how did it turn out? That it was good for the console gamers, but absolutely junk on the computer. But still it does sell, because people rather care for what sale numbers and reviewers say rather than having they own opinion.
And that is what i am pointing at: we can have 1000 releases, all of them ports or junk, people will buy it, hate it or love it because masses of people are gonna praise it, the developers will be happy for the money they get from the sales, and the money they save from focusing on consoles. And that is the thing which is killing at last PC gaming for me: i dont want every year to have a shitload of cheap junk under my desk to play, when before years back i had under my desk and on my HDD very nice games, while now i play maybe 1-2 good releases a year.
I agree with that one, just somehow my "oldschool gamer brain" says me that FPS where always more a thing of the PC. Not that there would bad shooters on consoles. Remember Killzone 1 for the PS2? I did love that one.hawkeye52 said:this might be because the mentalities between the two different types of gamers might be different. i.e easier to please.
it also works the other way round for example the pc versions of both oblivion and dragon age were far better on the pc then on the console. rts's will always be on the pc no matter what unless the consoles start releasing mouse and keyboards to which then i might consider gaming on the console more. same goes for MMO's. FPS games also will only be much more prominent on the console not for the quality of the gaming experience but due to the ease of gaming on it because some people cant figure out what a directX error and how to fix it.
the only games which i see that are much better on the console (controller) then anyother platform are fighter games such as tekken or streetfighter and/or sports games like football (soccer) and even then the racing games when you have the right equipment are much better on the pc.
To answer your question, yes you are doing it wrongOriginalJoeBlack said:Hello Dear Escapist.
My first thread, i hope i am not doin'it wrong.
So the matter is this: dont you think, that PC Gaming is slowly dying? I think: it does, and i am not happy about it.
Just look around you: PC features cut from Dragon Age 2, iD Software dropping PC support. And we dont have to talk about EA or Ubisoft with their copypasta, amrite?
At last we still got VALVe and Blizzard <3
What do you think? Are you a Console gamer and are you sorry for the PC users? Are you a PC gamer but it doesnt bother you, or are you like me, which is scared that this is happening?

Maybe you're looking at the results from a wrong angle? The question isn't about prefference, but rather about PC gaming dying off. Many people who preffer consoles also understand that PC is a viable platform and not in any danger of extinction.Owlslayer said:Wow, the poll is showing some results i did not expect.
I thought there were more people here who were on the Console side. But looks like i was wrong. Well great news, i say.
So? Just because people like console gaming doesn't mean they have to think PC gaming is dying. They even might, for some stupid reasons, believe that PCs are inferior to consoles but that doesn't mean they have to think PC gaming is dying.Owlslayer said:Wow, the poll is showing some results i did not expect.

Dear PC, live long and prosper!
easy , pal. Yes, i might have missed the point i was trying to say, but it happens when your native language isn't English. I meant that i thought there were more people who wanted the PC to die, or just believed that it will die, on this site.TheComedown said:So? OriginalJoeBlack, your poll says no. (and maybe twice??)
So basically, you're saying that PC exclusively is dying... which is partually true for AAA games, but the 360 seems to have largely non-notable exclusives (Halo games excepted), while the PC gets quite a few AAA exclusives (StarCraft, STALKER, Total War games, pretty much any RTS worth its salt except Supreme Commander) as well as vast amounts of indie games (VVVVVV, Cave Story [for now], Penumbra, Overgrowth, Natuaral Selection 2 [in closed alpha], etc.)OriginalJoeBlack said:As i see, many of you just dont get my point. That's a quote from fight club I think.Mr. Gency said:"Everyone's survival rate eventually drops to zero."
Well fuck if I can remember where I heard that quote from.
By explaining the joke you killed it, making it even worse than it already was.BJ777 said:THIS IS WINDOWS!!!!!!!!!(like this is SPAARTA)
Umm... Nope, there is a HUGE proportion of this site that are PC gamers (many multi-platform)Owlslayer said:easy , pal.
