Being as I use mine for at least 3/4 of these every day, I'd say it's still alive.

EDIT: Is the ps2 dead because the ps3 came out? Point made.

i got a psp when they first came out just about but it didnt take me long to get fed up of it because the only place i used it was on the bus or on dinner break and it never really gave me enougth time to complete the game or to get into it the game to actaully start to enjoy it to much, and when am at home when i actaully do have time to play the games that i got i just rather play my xbox 360 so it just ends up collecting dust. I think that the new psp would proberly sell alot at first but then it will slowly die down like the orignal did

I didn't really think the PSP was alive to begin with. It appeared to me as some malevolent scheme and mutant cloning project.

Eventhough I don't own one myself, I don't think it's dead.

By the way, get better poll choices.

I'm a little iffy on it. PSP get a gem game here and there, but when Gamestop's PSP page is highlighting Crisis Core still, there haven't been that many gems.

Put it this way, I have a PSP and I am still signing every petition I can find to have MGS: Peace Walker co-released on PS2 or on PSN. The very least I want "system play" where like for Resistance Retribution I can plug my PSP to my PS3 via USB to play the game with the six-axis controller on the full sized TV screen.

The idea of playing a 3D game like Peace Walker with free moving camera but no right analogue stick to control it... GRRRR.

Also, it pisses me off when Kojima goes on about Peace Walker for PSP they say they are going for PS3 graphics... WTF? Just take a look at MGS3 for the PS2 as even that looks miles better than any of the screen-shots seen of Peace-Walker so far.

I don't know what anyone is talking about, there are plenty of great games out for the psp and plenty to come.

It's alive and running like fuck away from me -.-
Not but to be serious. the psp is legendary, resistance is futile. iPwn, DSi and everything else that wore supposed to be pvp killers have been no more threat than a fly.

The PSP has shifted 50 million units, almost as many as the Wii and as many as the PS3 and 360 put together. The wave of terrible PS2 ports has given way to some great exclusives including Metal Gear Portable Ops, Monster Hunter Freedom, Loco Roco, Patapon, Prinny, Crisis Core, God of War, Resistance Retribution, Lumines, Wipeout Pure, Daxter and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters. It has its own PSN Store, plenty of firmware updates and Sony clearly feel confident enough in its future to release numerous colours, bundled consoles and bite-sized PSP Mini games along with increased support for small-scale PSP devs.

A slow starter, yes, nor is it the biggest seller this generation. But the PSP is well into its stride now and shows no signs of slowing down. I can't fathom how 50 million units, a crop of excellent games, a steady stream of upgrades and healthy hardware sales constitutes the console being dead.

I own a DS as well and love it just as much, but I'm getting loads of use out of my PSP right now.
