That's very true. A woman's weight will fluctuate over time much more than a man's, although I've heard of an interesting study about the social aspect of obesity. (It's a study you might've read about from Wired [http://www.wired.com/medtech/health/magazine/17-10/ff_christakis], if you're curious.) I've had several female friends date skinny guys and confess that same self-consciousness as your former high school friend, and then again I've known some plus-sized divas who rock their bodies with pride and don't know an ounce of self-doubt.zelda2fanboy said:I always sort of thought that! I remember a couple I knew from high school (they did drugs). The male lost a ton of weight from doing meth, but the girl only lost about half that amount. He told me she was really self conscious about it. On the other hand due to biology and child birth, you're probably more likely to see large women with skinny guys, than the other way around. In those cases, the "pursuit" aspect has ended, though.Ava Elzbieta said:Huh. Color me surprised with the gender role for this quiz.
Of course I agree that physical appearance should be the last thing people think of when selecting a mate. However, I would like to point out that while many women are attracted to skinny men, this sometimes makes a girl more self-conscious of her own body issues, most notably the presence of a little extra jiggle where her partner may have none.
Thanks for responding and noticing my post by the way. It's really spiffy of you. *blush blush*
