Poll: Is there honestly enough of a graphics difference between the 360 and PS3 to make it a selling point

Right now? No. The PS3 leads, but only on one or two high-end titles.

A year or two down the line? Yes; the PS3 will be well ahead.
Your Biased, ignore him

Call me a fanboy? yeah right not compared to this douche! He fought across teh interwebz just to try and prove how vastly superior the PS3 was to the Xbox... and it still did not work I still don't see the difference besides the Black and White color of the consoles.
The award for retard goes to... you!

Sorry, but the only Fanboy here is the one who refuses to accept that 'Yes' is a valid answer. At least, my Halo-humping friend, I validated my choice with the belief that, based on the graphical quality of the 'High End' titles (ie: Killzone 2 vs Gears 2), the PS3 is superior. However, not enough to be a 'buy factor'.

When you consider the jumps in quality, however (Gears to Gears 2, Resistance to Resistance 2) the PS3 is improving considerably. The 360 is not. Ergo, down the line the PS3 will be much better.

If you want tons of excellent games with an amazing online service, get the 360.

If you want Blu Ray and Metal Gear Solid 4, get the PS3.

it will be later when games actually take advantage of the ps3's processing power
When will that be? 2020? Because the idea that the processing power is so much greater for the PS3 and is going to make a big difference in graphics is nonsense. Even if they can get it to 1080p, that isn't that much of an improvement over the 360s 720p. And your TV can't get any better right now. The limiting factor isn't processing power in EITHER system. It is the display capability of the TELEVISION.

The criteria went in circles were illogical.
Um no dude. Whatever the generic service is that the PS3 offers, it doesn't hold a candle to Xbox Live. And the 360s library is sooo much better than the PS3s that there's no argument. So yeah, if you like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Blu Ray, then by all means pick up the PS3.

I guess, I'm not big on graphics. I like gameplay, that's why I have a PC.
even if you were big on graphics you'd still have a pc. all the spouting of killzone 2 in the world couldn't stop me from mentioning Crysis. find graphics better than that on a console and i might give you a cookie. thought i am more likely to give to a knuckle sandvich!!!
Calm down, Calm Down!!! Don't get a big DICK!!!

Seriously though, I don't care much for graphics, my PC sucks and is only good for playing Starcraft, WC3, and CS:S.

The PS3 claims to be all about their graphics, but GOW2 easily has better graphics then Resistance 2. You can argue, but I played GOW2 in standard quality, and it had 10 times more detail then Resistance 2 in HD.

No. Imo as long as the graphics are decent on both of the systems I was considering I would go with the one that has the best games/franchises that I like to play plain and simple.

Why would it matter? Though I hate the attitude and people that say it so fucking much; if you're so concerned with graphics, build a good PC.
Look to the games on consoles to make your decision. Not higher poly-count and blur effects.

hmmmm, so far i have noticed both can produce the same graphics well in certain games one console seems to lag more than the other so far for me it has been the 360 lagging more but w/e i also noticed when lots is goign on the 360 tends to make lots of sounds that a system shouldnt make, the ps3 just kinda heats up andi use a fan on it >.>

Anybody that says the 360 library is superior to the PS3's is a fanboy. No matter what they say.

Because I can easily say the Wii's lineup beats the 360's by a longshot, and you'd easily call me a fanboy. So don't turn it around on me. I happen to enjoy the 3 consoles, despite their idiotic fans.

Oh, and the consoles don't have that much difference in graphics. Just buy what you like.

If you can afford it the PS3. Not because of graphics, but the games. All good 360 games have eventually turned to the PC. PLUS you dont need some overpowered rig to run them. I use a hunk of LITTERALLY garbage found PC parts.
Basically this.

You're limiting graphics to the only thing you are considering for processor power. I'm talking about more complex equations AND graphics. You know, being able to manage more input and output. The AI having options, thus creating a better game. The graphics are about as good as they will get for the next several years. But there is still improvement to be had in other facets of gameplay.

No. Between Gears 2, and Killzone 2 I find it hard to belive there is a graphic difference.
