I remember that.

I believe I also once played a shooter where there was a kind of game where both teams would wield knives and then run at their opponents. One, the other, or both would be killed. Lots of fun XD

Even if I knew what you were asking for (which I wouldn't) I'd still shoot you. Knife battles in most games aren't fun. In CS I found them to be chaotic twirling matches.

I play on non-serious servers in TF2. If someone pulls out a melee weapon and starts running at me at medium range, I'll accept the fight. Likewise, people tend to do the same if I start the fight. In all honestly, it's ridiculously awesome when it happens and no one intervenes. Bullets being blasted, rockets flying by, arrows wizzing through the air, and two guys are trying to hit each other with a wrench and an axe. Brilliant.
Seconded.

How about that new update huh? Good, classy hatted times my friend.

As games become more realistic then people will react more realisticly by shooting someone wielding a knife. Knife Etiquette comes from the movies and the cheesy ones at that. Look at the final fight in Commando versus the sword guy fight in Indiana Jones.

If you pull a knife on him, expect him to pull out a gun on you. If you send one of his to the hospital, he'll send one of yours to the morgue.

Ah, Sean Connery. The Prohibition era would have been so much less fun without you.

Yes, I too have many hats. Come, let us rejoice in the land of hat-having as those peons mill around with their bare heads. Simpletons. I'd like to challenge you to a gentleman's duel in the sophisticated art of knife fighting. Do you accept, good chap?

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I do it most of the time unless it's a scrim or tournament match.

In which case I play to win.
Other than that, yeah, FFA, of course, I see your gauntlet, I raise up mine. May the best man (the one who already had armor/extra health) win!

Knife etiquette? If you use a knife, expect to be shot. It's really that simple, some people may decide to have some fun with it and go knife versus knife. In the end though, gun is always going to win out and a kill is a kill no matter what.

I know of this rule, I haven't ever engaged in a knife fight. This is mostly due to the fact that if they are approaching me with a knife my first instinct is "Shoot the idiot."
