First of all, let me make one thing clear: I have absolutely no disdain for
Left 4 Dead 2. The only criticism I can make towards the game is...WHY?
The original
Left 4 Dead (yes, now we have to call it "the original") is still hot off the shelves, and Valve announces a sequel?
(What the hell happened to Episode 3?)
I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this is a bad move.
(And seriously, where the fuck is Episode 3?)
Now, let's pretend for a second that people actually wanted a sequel this early; what new game mechanics do they have in store for us this time around? Nothing much.
We have new settings, new characters, new weapons and the ability to use melee weapons. It sounds more like an update to
Left 4 Dead than an actual sequel.
(And let us not forget, they're probably really busy making Episode 3!)
And the title! Left "
4" Dead "
2"? From now on it should be a rule:
you can only have ONE single digit number in the title of your game!
(Unless that game is Half Life 2: Episode 3, that would be okay!)
But I didn't make this thread just so I could rant about
Left 4 Dead 2 (I'm writing a book for that), I made it so I could see what others think about it. Do you think it's a good idea? Thoughts? Questions? Random fanboy rage? Say it all with a comment
(AND GODDAMMIT VALVE!!! FINISH EPISODE 3!!!)
