Connect a Xbox gamepad to your usb port. Problem solved.
What would be the point in buying the game for PC if he is going to use the xbox controller?
Cheaper, has mods, has the option for alternative game pads (k&b, joystick etc)

I can't play with a mouse. It really kills my hand, no matter how often I try. But it's defenitely faster.
And also:

console. playing games with a joypad sitting on a relaxing couch in front of a 40+" television is just (imho) a far better experience than upright at a desk, and this far outweighs the mouse-or-no-mouse discussion for me.
The lack of mods is the only thing that really makes me envy the PC gamers.

Mods are the most compelling reason I can see for going PC. Of course for me it is also a problem that I don't own any consoles so the PC is the only option I have. I choose relaxing in the comfort of my bed with my laptop for my Left 4 Dead play, it works out quite nicely.

I'm still getting the 360 version because my computer can't play L4D, but FPS games are supirior on the PC. Plus you can download mods.
What kind of PC do you have? The source engine doesn't require much if I recall.

Incidentally a graphic card that runs Left 4 Dead on minimum costs 20$ [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187048]
Why do you and Eggo always assume that the graphics card is the problem?
Since games have been GPU limited?
They could be literally giving those cards away and it wouldn't do me any good, I recently bought a 360 for £140 because my motherboard doesn't have a PCI-E slot. so for me, and many others, an upgrade means processor, motherboard, ram and power supply (most likely). You're talking well beyond PS3 money for that lot.

You make that sound like a bad thing though. Like it isn't worth it. The initial cost is what hurts, then everything after should be less than any new console.

Also, all my friends on 360. And this game needs to be played with friends.
what do you mean they're not built for it ? The PC created the FPS genre ! That's an outrageous comment and even still. If you're talking the 'WASD' form you can always rebind your keys.
Yes, it was, but the keyboard itself wasn't invented with gaming comfort in mind, like say a controller.

Ultimately theres no point trying to argue with a PC fanboys, its as pointless as arguing with any other type of fanboy, so ill just leave it that. *ducks from gun fire*
You mean that it's pointless to argue against facts? Well I supposed that's about right.
Also calling other people fanboys while you send comments like 'the PC age is ending consoles are the future' is a bit contradictory. You're a fanboy as well, problem is you're on the other side of the fence.

Personally I never felt my 10 euros keyboard to feel uncomfortable but still if you want comfort you could always buy a ergonomic keyboard. There you go, problem solved.
As much as I enjoy continuing arguments (Lots). i must say that if I were to ever play L4D on a console I would play it on 360. I personally think 360 is the closest thing to a perfect console as it's gonna get. IMHO I think the ps3 controller is the worst. It's horrendously small. And I may be a fan boy but I bought a 360 Gamepad for when I had to play RE4 with no MOUSE >:3

Another thing to note, the PC version is getting a new server browser some point soon, I don't know about the 360 version. Linky [http://www.l4dmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5:matchmaking-server-browser&catid=2:news]

It should make it easier to find a game if you don't have a huge friends list.
Oh my God, this is the best news I've heard all week (though, it's only monday). I'm so sick of auto-matchmaking putting me in servers that make my internet cry. This usually only happens in Versus mode, since there can be 8 people from all over the world.

Oh, and Mattkirby, there was some patch (official or Unofficial, I do not know) that gave RE4 mouse support - and clearly, you would just plug your controller into your PC right? You said you did so for RE4, don't know what would stop you this time.

AM I the only one having loading issues with this game? Every time I exit a safehouse, about a minute later the game freezes for about five seconds, as if it wasn't done loading or something.

I'm just wondering if it's game-specific or something because I've never had a problem like this before.

Which version? I'm just going to guess the 360 version because I heard on review sites that the load times are longer, but there weren't any issues.

Anyway, I had lag issues on the PC version but not much else.

I'm in Australia and the PC matchmaking system isn't so bad atm with lag, there's plenty of dedicated servers. But maybe 10% of the time it'll put me in a game based too far away and is just unplayable for the most part otherwise it's perfect.
It's been a while since my 360 was stolen but I remember the same kind of problem about as often too.
Is this an issue for 360 players today still?

True, but the cost now (or more accurately a month or two ago for me) was £140 vs £400+. Future savings are no good when you're talking about hundreds of pounds which people don't have.

BritishDude, Some people I've played with online said they were using a controller. I couldn't tell. If you're good with said peripheral, then you should be fine.

There is also the frag-fx controller, a hybrid of the Mouse and Gamepad.

I'm sorry Groovy Pants, I know where going to disagree on this, but the age of the PC is coming to an end. Consoles are the future.

Right-click, save picture as.

That my friend is the definition of awesome.
I concur. I have it for my 360. My computer is strong enough. But I was never a PC gamer
