When ever someone brings the "Legalize Marijuana" question up, I ask myself, "How will this affect my life?"
The answer is: not at all, even if it was legal I still wouldn't smoke it.

In other words, me no care.

I could write a whole page about how legalizing cannabis is bad for the user but it all comes down to this:

When you legalize a drug, the government tax it. When they tax it the price goes up. With extra VAT and maybe even import/export prices and other countries laws the price will go up even further. You will pay more for something you get enjoyment out of. Do you really want that?

Similarly, all the paperwork and proper legislation that would work with other countries would take ages to do and would mean that other, more improtant problems than your dumbass weed usage are postponed. Frankly, this idea that cannabis is rather selfish. You seem to be able to smoke it fine without it being legal and are only worried about your own fucking jail time.

Also, obligatory rule reference

I dislike this thread and all the others like it. You haven't thought of the ramifications it could actually have on a country and you if it gets legalized. Just pipe down and smoke your damn weed in your own time.

I'm so glad people like you are what seems to be the minority by now.
Really, get a clue.
And I'm still glad that weed is illegal here, and that doesn't look set to change. I may only seem like a minority because who in their right of mind would come into a thread such as this to say they oppose it?
There are plenty of others who are as against it as I, if not more so. They are just smart enough to not bother with such a thread.

hmm... I sympathise with you having to live near twats, but I feel equipped to tell you with authority that weed does not make people into twats.
I wouldn't, nor would anyone I smoke with, do anything bad with baked. I'm overly cautious about loud music or conversations, let alone anything deliberately mean, though from time to time I do go out get drunk and act like a nob.
Honestly mon ami, I think their behaviour and intoxicant of choice are as unrelated as winston churchill's oratory ability and his silk panties.
Thanks. I only wish that everyone else didn't have to put up with them as well.
Still, it doesn't change the fact that it may not make people into feth-wipes, but it certainly pushes them over the edge into unleashing their inner moron. Luckily, as I have said before, not all cannabis users are like that. I can easily admit that as true. But for every one that gets along fine with it, it also seems to draw out more of the inner assholes.

dude stoned people don't go out running around the streets breaking stuff and stealing shit because there are cops out there and no matter how stoned you are you will still retain some amount of common sense I thought it was common knowlege that stoned ppl stay at home listen to music or in my case paint and occasionally do a bit of harmless sandwich binging the people that you say are out stealing and breaking your stuff are probably drunk or are just plain old assholes also I don't know where you heard this headache think from because if anything it relieves headaches and medically is used as a pain relief
Please, don't call me "dude". We wouldn't want to get all unfriendly after our enlightening talks.
Unfortunately, you are now talking about the uncommon, common sense. It isn't as common as you would believe, or we would wish it were.
Damn, if the twits who use cannabis in my area had even an ounce of common sense between them, then perhaps it would not be a problem. As it is, I doubt they have even heard of the term. I wish the cops would actually walk around this area, but I have never seen them on patrol here in my who time living here. I've only seen them a few times when they came to the area to make arrests. Too dangerous for them, I suppose, and they can't really go around checking house by house...
And that headache part is personal experience. The stink of cannabis gives me headaches.

1) ¬/` is the key directly to the left of "1".
2) Yes, personal morals dictate how one will act. But cannabis tends to blur the lines a little bit, no? I've known good people turn to scum after sampling cannabis. Perhaps it was their all along, but that still means that cannabis unlocked that ability to become scum.
And yes, some people have eating disorders such as that. But they are still not mind-altering. Hallucinogenic hamburgers. Heh. As fun as that sounds, it tends not to be the case.
No punks where I live. "Punk" tends to be a way of life, a way of dressing, etc. Something from, what, the 80's?
Punks are punks, drug-addicted assholes are not.
Kinda wish they were punks instead, with no drug addiction... at least it would be safer to walk around at night...
Anyway, of the few decent people I know, none smoke weed. I know they don't. It isn't that hard to tell. There aren't enough decent people where I live for them to have cannabis users amidst their numbers.
Bah, mine is ~

It doesn't blur it much if any. But then again I think alcohol only blurs it a little. I may be more immune to my morals being blurred for some reason due to intoxicants as I never really have issue there. I have more problems with my dick than anything else. Now, that fella can be seriously convincing when fresh vagina is around. Alcohol and weed ain't got anything on him.
I am not saying it doesn't blur for anyone else either but I have always been of the mindset that it is an excuse to blame it on something other than take personal responsibility for it. "Man, I was drunk.", "Man, I was high." Etc. That shit don't fly with me. Learn to control the drug not vice versa. In my experience, it has never been the drug to my knowledge but instead it is something that was being suppressed in the first place. The drug helped it surface, yeah. But if it wasn't the drug, it would have been something else. People don't bottle shit for too long. Emotions and stuff yeah but not theft and stuff like that. Some people get "addicted" to theft and earn the title of klepto.

Basically, a douchebag is a douchebag. Weed and alcohol may work as truth serums but they don't make douchebags. At best they bring out the suppressed inner douchebag for all to see. And its usually better to have that be revealed to you than not anyways.

How are these guys near you so bad? What about them is so vile outside of their drug use?

A little bit of cannabis does wonders for the mind
Impairing cognitive functions does do wonders for the mind. That's why drunks are some of the brightest people you meet.

Look, I'm all for you doing crap to your body, but self delusion is just ridiculous, and trying to justify it to others is worse.

I'd vote yes, but being that I'm allergic to the shit and YES, it will harm me, I don't want it in public. No reason I should be impaired because someone else wants to be.
Impairment? Crap? It's a shame you're allergic.

I'm not going to sit here and preach about it, you're just taking my statement out of context. I just firmly believe that, if used responsibly, marijuana can help more than harm.

Oh, and don't you dare compare a drunk to one who smokes. That's night and day, sir.

I voted 'nay' as a knee jerk reaction but given further time to consider it, I suppose there wouldn't be any harm in legalising it, then you could control it, keep the money out of the hands of shady dealers and back into economic circulation. But lets be honest, with David 'Middle Class' Cameron in power, it won't happen soon.

If it was legal, I probably wouldn't be able to afford it.

And let's be honest, it does make you dumb. Watching twelve episodes of Beavis & Butthead in a row? No one could do that with a sober mind.

Nay...Colombia and other countries are already completely messed up because of the U.S drug trade. Imagine if the demand skyrocketed?

Considering my current state of mind... it would be most hypocritical to select "NAY".
Therefore I say "YAY"!

Lol! mate, go to The Netherlands. last time I was there it was 7 euros a gram, and 25quid for an eigth back home - That's about even. And the country seems fine to me. Positively beautiful. And clean! A Damn sight better the the piss-stinking puke-stained streets of the United Kingdom of booze.
Yeah, the Netherlands is the booze addled, coked up college dropout of the world (apologies to those who bare their origins there). It is one of the very few countries that actually have legal cannabis, so I don't think I, my government or your government are ever going to take advice from them.

Also, don't try to argue morality on the whole cannabis issue either. Since when have governments ever cared about morality when it doesn't make them look better or worse? Arguing morality to the government is like arguing politics to a cat.
