If a series is completed as both a Manga and an Anime, I'll watch the anime and just skip over the filler episodes. However if it is not completed I'll read the Manga as [del]most[/del] all Animes are based off of Manga and not the other way around.
Corrected that one :p
You only watch Shonen Jump Anime, don't you?
I read Shonen Jump Manga, and to be honest i enjoy Shojo and seinen manga too.

See I like reading the Manga, then watching the Anime after. Sometimes the animators take liberties with the comic and spice things up a bit.
Actually I've seen lots of manga series get heavy censoring in the anime version.
Think Gantz, not only half the content were ripped off in the episodes that got released, the rest of the manga still goes on. But it was over excessive with gore and sex, so they had to cut it down.
That's true, but I still feel like I'm missing something if I don't watch both. Plus you get the anime only arcs (like the Bount arc in Bleach).
Bount arc in Bleach was actually a filler saga :p

EDIT: sorry for the double post.

What's the difference?
Anime is the animated series, Manga is the original comic.
You read backwards in Manga don't you?

I'll go with Anime then.
Yep, top right to bottom left per page. It's easy enough to get used to.

I'm going for Anime. Anime only if it's followed the manga completely and hasn't stopped at a certain point, something I despise, or hasn't been molested with fillers, something I also despise.

That was actually the same reason I read Naruto in Manga form, those fillers were shocking. But I still watch the anime, because I want to see the insanity i've seen in Manga form in motion.

They both tend to be too dramatic. Sometimes the story is decent, but I just don't like either of them. It's probably because my sisters are downright obsessed with everything Japanese.
Well now i know who the other person was who chose neither. Yay for minority status.
Actually, I forgot to vote. I was too busy listening to Opeth.

I like both, but most of both is complete shit. My favorite Anime is Cowboy Bebop, and my favorite manga is Rurouni Kenshin.

After reading many manga series the 'left-to-right' fetish is starting to leave scars, found myself reading western comics in the manga order a couple of times.

And it helps no one when western imprints like Dark horse print manga series, like Blade Of The Immortal, and it's left to right again. Confusion for all.

Rurouni Kenshin? Bah, it's good but there are a number of series out there that are better.

Considering the Bount arc was a filler, it's pretty awesome by filler standards, most of the time you get garbage.

Unless the anime and manga are based off a game.

So, is there really a difference between poorly drawn comics and poorly drawn cartoons?

didnt the japanese have manuscripts/ reading material before the west? that means that we read backwards, technically.
anyhow, i don't care for manga. yes the story is better, but i am entertained by the colours and voice acting offered by anime.

Actually I don't like bleach that much anymore. It appears to be a single loop of events.
-Ichigo loses a fight - Ichigo trains for 2 minuts and learns hyper moves that otherwise take 2 thousand years to learn - Ichigo starts to fight the dude he lost to, kicks his ass at the start then, gets his ass handed to him - Inoue yells something like 'Ichigo NOOOOOOOO~~' - Ichigo stands up stops the (otherwise fatal) attack with his bear hands-etc-etc-etc. Print and repeat.

Both. I like both of them, like different series in both of them and don't really have a preference on either.

i don't have a particular preference, since manga gives more information (the ones i have read anyway, after i compared them to their anime equivalents), while anime i can read the subbed episodes and still hear them in Japanese, which i like doing.

i watch anime more though, so I'll give it the edge.

I'm not a huge fan of either, but there are several Anime movies that I absolutely love. Never really got into Manga though. Some of it was interesting, but most of it I just found meh.

Code Geass was an anime before it was a manga....

It really depends on the series for me. For example, Gurren Lagann and Code Geass are far better in their anime form but Genshiken and One Piece are better as manga. I usually just check both out to figure out which I like better and go with that.

People have been voicing complaints that Bleach had been keeping too similar a formula, I don't really see it too much because I don't read bleach, only Nartuo (in terms of mainstream manga/anime).

If so that's a shame, to be honest I still think Tite Kubo should resume Zombie Powder when he finishes this, I thought that was pretty cool, and pretty original in a sense, if I could pin that to any other series it would probably be Trigun only for the setting.

I also have to voice my disdain for Ichigo. He fights for no reason most of the time, and just doesn't have any likable qualities in my opinion.

Double-check: what you've been reading could be Manhwa, the Korean variant! Manhwa follows the left-to-right format.

Also, from what I've read of DH's titles, they don't flip the manga: they certainly didn't for Gantz.
